BMW Ink covered with Zaino

I was contacted by a member here about making his new 550i even newer than it was. I've never worked on Carbon Black before but wow is it ever a cool color!

There was very little contamination on the car and therefore little claying to be done. There was also only the need for light polishing.

This is what the entire car had going on. All very light but still all over the car. My choice was to whip out my Dynabrade attachment on my trusty B&D rotary. For polishing duty was ZPC and a yellow 8" Meguiar's 8000. The result was this:

That was to the owners liking.;) With those results I proceeded with the same process on the rest of the car with some areas getting a second round. The car was then wiped down with Z6 and given two coats of Z2 Pro. I had to get some shots while the sun was still overhead so don't mind the dirty wheels.:o

You can see the Dynabrade attached to my rotary just in front of my car.

The inside of the car was untouched at the owners request.

Chris, can you tell us your experience with the Dynabrade attachment?

BTW, the "integration" of the head-up display is simply disgusting.

Thanks gents!

Bence, I'll elaborate on the Dynabrade later but in short I have always liked it but the weight of the attachment *and* the rotary can be tiresome.

Thomas, thanks!:) I'll post some pics of my car later today. I'll probably even give it it's own 10 year old thread.;)

Great work on a beautiful car! I really like that color. Too bad there's so much orange peel on the doors.

Thanks all!

Bence, the Dynabrade attachment is on my B&D so the two together are well in excess of 10 pounds. Great for horizontal panels but verticals make you want to be done NOW. It doesn't steer itself around and will do some pretty good cutting while finishing out really well. It will hustle an 8" pad like it's a 4" pad and just doesn't bog at all. Did I mention it's heavy?

Great job! That car looks really nice.

Yeah, BMW's are the king of orange peel, especially on the side panels.
