best OTC tire dressing

i've been using a left over bottle of black magic.. it looks pretty good.. but i keep reading bad things about black magic here



which otc tire dressing gives good shine.. lasts relatively long.. and most importantly.. DONT SLING AT ALL

I only use Michelin Tire Dressing from Strauss and a few others. Hard to come by around here. Before that I was using 1Z. I like deep black, but no reflection. I hate it when I see a car and the tires are shinier than the paint.

I use the Duragloss TMD as well and love it.



It gives the tires a nice black matte look without being too shiny/glossy. It also lasts at least a couple of weeks in decent weather conditions and doesn't sling at all.
 
Ive been pretty impressed with armor all gel extreme. With a foam applicator, Im washing the car before the tires :)



Available at autozone.
 
303 and Armor All Original are good. After reading reviews on Vinylex, I went and bought some (Ace Hardware) and applied it to my tires this past Monday after washing my car. I love it so far! There's a chance of rain so we'll see how it holds up.

I like Meguiars Endurance ( not High gloss version ) $3.00 a bottle at Biglots... Last a long time.. I get no sling and it lasts at least 2 weeks usually longer...

I usually go with the cheap on-sale OTC products.... like Eagle-1 Tire Shine----32 oz. for about $3.99.



I don't think the Duragloss is a good deal at:

#253 19 oz $8.29

#251 8 oz $4.89

#252 Gallon $41.80

#254 64 oz $22.35



Of course, if you really love the stuff, then it's worth it for you.



Plus-in my area, no stores carry DG, so when I order, I buy a lot of stuff from them to spread the $4.95 shipping. Then it's worth it-especially for gallons of AQUAWAX and FAST CLEAN AND SHINE, which I love.
 
props to MCA for mentioning the Zaino Z-16 - that stuff smells delicious, works even better, and 2 sprays of simple green on the applicator and it is back to new . . .
 
One thing we need to remember is with all the tire brands and different rubber formulas some products might work well on some and not others. My daughters car has 3 different brands of tires and the Megs Endurance works well on 3 of them but not one. I don't have the car here so I can't remember the brands. I found this with other tires and products. So maybe when we review tire products we should say on what brand tire we are using it on as well!

A word of caution, Long Haul Tire Shine will stain some rims and you don’t want to use it as an undercarriage / wheel well spray….it will stain in those areas.

Im glad I tested it because I was considering buying the whole shelf at BigLots ($2.00 a bottle) for wheel wells.

My favorite is Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss. Sure, some do have their complaints, but if you apply this product correctly you will experience great results.

Thanks for the heads up on the Long Haul product - I've been very fortunate not to experience this (I use a tire swipe), but I will definitely pay extra attention when using it in the future. :hifive:
