Armor All Wheel Protectant - Looks amazing

I took my wheels off of my SUV and did a thorough cleaning of the inside then "liberally" applied it to all parts of the inner wheel surface. Granted it has only been a week and I have no control (didn't feel like only doing half of my wheels), but the inner-wheel surface is still squeaky clean (2007 Acura MDX w/OEM brake pads, ~1000mi/month commute...250ish city miles on these wheels so far).

The problem i have with these products is that once they are compromised you have to clean the wheels, often with a cleaner to get them back to a condition where you can reapply it with out "sealing in" brake dust etc. Often we are talking 3 weeks or less on performance brakes!

Personally thats why i find a durable sealant like EGP works so well, yeah it wont repel brake dust like its a polor oppersite. But what does build up wipes away in a second, month after month before its compromised.

Thats months, before im back with wheel cleaners and lots of brush time! Other wise its a mitt and ez detailer for the barrels at the wash stage for me.

Cant help but recommend a spritz of UQD on the wheels after the sealant as it inhibits build up even more! Also EGP is water like, easy to apply with a finger applicator!

I will see how this fairs if and when i get my hands on some!

Sorry for bumping this old thread but what is this EGP everyone is talking about? I'm look for a durable sealant for my wheels but I've only use Collinite 845 so far.

Thanks. I actually have that at my local car store (Canadian Tire). Is it better than Poorboy's wheel sealant or Collinite 845 for wheels? I've been using Collinite 845 and feel like I should pick up something specific to protect the wheels. I was looking to get Poorboy's wheel sealant but if the durability of EGP is known to be better maybe I'll pick that up instead.

Poorboys wheel sealant has terrible durability. It is a great cleaner though. Smells delicious.

I just know the name of it man... I never used it. Many people like FK1000 because of it's higher heat durability. You could also just go with OC or 22PLE makes one for rims and such as well. I'm sure of 22PLE durability on wheels though. Haven't seen any feedback on that. Dan might be able to tell you better.

This AA product remains pretty much the only OTC detailing product I regularly buy. It still seems to be in a class by itself and it's nice I can just go pick it up locally

I have used the armor all wheel protectant and i'll be honest, it worked quite well for me. I have a WRX, but I don't have aggressive pads on it, so brake dust for me is pretty minimal. However, my old Evo was not kind in that area and when I used it, it did work quite well. As long as you use a gentle car shampoo on the wheels, you get a pretty decent life out of it.
