Another "FK1 425 Rocks" thread.

I'd love to hear what kind of results you get, as I'm sure others will also. Please keep us updated.

Just used OID. Mixed 6oz. in a 24oz. spray bottle. It is white in color and seems a little thicker than 425. Ease of cleaning about the same as 425, but 425 seems slicker. It's been on for about 6hrs. and it is pretty windy and there seems to be very little dust if any. So dust wise, about the same as 425, but I give the slickness to 425. I can't judge the durability cause I QD my car everyday except when it's rainning.

i've tried OID (pre-mixed one) and wasn't impressed with it. I found 425 to be more slick too.

I found QID to be very good. I have to give a slight edge in slickness to 425.

...anyone have any idea how FK1 425 compares to Meg's UQD? I just got some of that stuff and I wanted to know if anyone had done a comparison.

I was also curious, so I did a side-to-side test today. I'll take a pic tomorrow and we'll see how they deal with the pollen. Hopefully I'll have the pics up by the end of the week.

If you spray it one the tire and/or apply it thickly to the applicator, yes, it looks extremely wet and glossy, but not greasy, which is why I like it so much. Thats whats great, if you like a low sheen it works, if you like a glossy, wet sheen, it works. And its water based, so it cleans up like a champ.

I'll post a pic in a bit.

Thanks.

As I posted in another thread, I received my FK1 order, but the 108 was missing from the box.

Hopefully they will resolve the issue quickly.

Looking forward to the picture!

I use uqd right now because it's what i have on hand and hasn't helped reduce any pollen but I also have carnauba as an lsp currently so maybe that affects the outcome.

Has anyone used 425 over Zaino (Z-2/5)? It's what I've already invested in and have plenty of, but I want a topping that significantly reduces pollen / dust build-up and makes water just sheet off. I'm not into the whole "beading" thing and I prefer everything on the paint to slide right off.

People are using 425 over both sealants and carnaubas successfully. I haven't personally used it over Zaino, but going from what others are saying, it should work well.

It works fine over Zaino. However, the degree to which 425 reduces the contaminants that you describe will have to be determined by you.

425 is a nice spray, but its certainly not magic. Zaino beads profusely, and 425 really wont change much in that regard IME.

I have it and love it. Also have PW , 1000P , 108 , FX100 , 2180 , 215 , 425 , 146 , but I'm kind of stuck in a DG rut right now and have been using AW and FC&S and find them to be just as good with dirt/dust repellant , but do give a different look than 425. I will still have it my stash and use it pretty much , wife loves it too.

What good is the attribute "it is slicker"... I guess it is related to water runoff? Looks, water beading and runoff, durability, cleaning, repelling are all important to me. Products that are "slick" do not necssarily mean they are good.

Things are less likely to stick to it and for water sheeting I would think.

425 is excellent over Z2p or Z5p. Great shine and slick feel, as good as Z-6 in my eyes....

That is exactly the look that I am going for! Those look great. As you say, nice and glossy without looking greasy.

I find that quick detail products have better anti static qualities then quick wax products in general. Do people see a big difference from one detail product to the other.

Yes, for sure. No other QD has been able to stop my nubas from attracting dust. My car's paint was a HEPA filtration system for my garage before I started using 425.

Just tried this on my black BMW yesterday (wax over sealant) and it made a huge difference in dust accumulation. Gives the car a subtle wet shine too.
