Another "FK1 425 Rocks" thread.

Just got my second gallon of FK425 need I say more.

How long did you have the first gallon, and how many cars do you have?

We have 3 cars, and I feel like I am using it often, but I still have 80% of my gallon left.

Dang you SuperBee, I just placed an order of FK425 and will try out the odor eliminator also.

I need to try something that will reduce the pollen and dust.

GREG

Then my work here is done. ;)

Exactly right. I just cleaned my 24" computer monitor with it the other day. :wavey

Based on my very positive results with FK1 425, I placed another order to try some of their other products, including 1000p.....and their wood polish

(#20) as we get a lot of dust in our house, and our current wood polishes attract dust like crazy.

Do you have to worry at all about build-up on your computer monitor or other electronics? thanks.

not to mention... the flat fee shipping of $4.99 no matter how small or big your order is, rocks too (also not having to pay tax)! :dance

It's probably no secret that I *love* carnaubas. I *hate* the fact that cars turn into dust/dirt magnets after a fresh layer, though. Even worse, I hate the potential marring getting that dust and dirt off can cause.

Detail Doc recently suggested using FK1 425 as a solution to the carnauba static cling problem, and boy am I glad he did. I took the car down to the local touchless automatic (it's been too cold to wash outside here the passed few days), then returned to the garage for a thorough ONR wash. I then applied another layer of wax. Waited til the next morning, and sure enough, my car was *covered* in dust. So much so that I was too chicken to just hit it with the 425. I did a quick ONR first to get the dust off. Then, finally, sprayed it down with 425. I'm sure this stuff is capable of leaving a great shine, but it was sitting on a brand new, freshly buffed layer of wax, so I didn't really notice any increase in shine, but it did add some additional slickness.

The car sat in the garage the entire day and night. The following morning *there was no dust to be found* on the car. Nada, zip, zilch. Now that either means that it's doing it's job and really works well as an anti-static aide, or it took off about twenty bucks worth of wax. ;)

425 really does get rid of nubas static cling problems. Thank you, Detail Doc! :thx

Aww man Supe... not again. Yet another product to add to the list!

On another note, anyone have any idea how FK1 425 compares to Meg's UQD? I just got some of that stuff and I wanted to know if anyone had done a comparison.

You're welcome! Glad it worked for you. FK 425 is great on nubas and sealants. I use it after every wash. I have to keep this stuff away from my 5 year old though 'cause it smells some damn good, like bubble gum.

Megs UQD will darken the paint and is more hydrophobic, while Fk 425 will give you a bright gloss that will make flakes on metallics pop and it has one of the best anti-static properties. I prefer the look of FK 425, especially on nubas.

I'm a great fan of 425, but I just purchased OID. Doc, do you have any experience with it?

With FK 425, yes I do. I keep that stuff by the gallons. OID, no, I have never tried it.

I guess I'm a quick detail junkie. Just ordered 32oz. of OID that will make a gallon. Some say it's slicker than 425. I'll let you know.

Hmm if no one beats me to it, I can do the OID and UQD comparison this weekend.

Did you mean fk425 and OID? Imo between OID and UQD, optimum takes takes the cake, the slickness is impressive.
