It's probably no secret that I *love* carnaubas. I *hate* the fact that cars turn into dust/dirt magnets after a fresh layer, though. Even worse, I hate the potential marring getting that dust and dirt off can cause.



Detail Doc recently suggested using FK1 425 as a solution to the carnauba static cling problem, and boy am I glad he did. I took the car down to the local touchless automatic (it's been too cold to wash outside here the passed few days), then returned to the garage for a thorough ONR wash. I then applied another layer of wax. Waited til the next morning, and sure enough, my car was *covered* in dust. So much so that I was too chicken to just hit it with the 425. I did a quick ONR first to get the dust off. Then, finally, sprayed it down with 425. I'm sure this stuff is capable of leaving a great shine, but it was sitting on a brand new, freshly buffed layer of wax, so I didn't really notice any increase in shine, but it did add some additional slickness.



The car sat in the garage the entire day and night. The following morning *there was no dust to be found* on the car. Nada, zip, zilch. Now that either means that it's doing it's job and really works well as an anti-static aide, or it took off about twenty bucks worth of wax. ;)



425 really does get rid of nubas static cling problems. Thank you, Detail Doc! :thx
 
Just ordered 1 gallon and cant wait to try it.But i dont know if it can minimize the dust attraction in a very busy and polluted city(Manila,Philippines).I just hope it works here
 
when i first used it, i was hesitant that the "anti-static" claim was just a gimmick. it's not, i love this stuff (smells good too)!

How i should use it??Glaze and then FK1 425?Glaze sealant and then FK1 425??

How many layers i have to apply for better results??

SuperBee do u worry by using a QD that alters the under lying layer of LSP it will ruin the "look" or nuances of vintage?

Yeah, I do. Which is why I've stayed away from QD's as much as possible on my Vintage'd cars except the odd application of Field Glaze. But the dust attraction was just too much. When I heard about FK1 425's anti static, the fears of ruining the vintage look disappeared. And so far, the 425 has neither improved or altered the look of the vintage.
 
+1 on the FK425. It's probably the best thing next to sliced bread and CD2 engine detailer (Sorry, had to throw another hyped up product into the mix). :grinno:



It really does do what it says and the shine and slickness it leaves is awesome. Once my bottle is done, I'll be ordering a gallon for sure.

Give the 146 a try too. It's got some cleaners in it. Works great for lightly (brake) dusted wheels. IMHO, the 425 will cut down on dust attraction by about 50% if not more. YMMV
 
I had this experience - FK2180 - no static cling, added Pink wax - pollen magnet, added 425 - return to no static cling. IMHO - FK has some great products that don't get mentioned enough!
 
Dang you SuperBee, I just placed an order of FK425 and will try out the odor eliminator also.



I need to try something that will reduce the pollen and dust.

IIRC, they were the "hot" products on here a year or two ago. Guess they're being "re-discovered"

Man....I can't wait to pick some of this stuff up....it could be a huge help with my black daily driver. Unfortunately I have to use up the 1/4 gallon of Last Touch I still have first.
 
Huge, long time FK425 user here.



Try using it around the house on your electronics like computer screens, laptops, TV screens and AV equipment. The non-static results work here too.

Exactly right. I just cleaned my 24" computer monitor with it the other day. :wavey



Based on my very positive results with FK1 425, I placed another order to try some of their other products, including 1000p.....and their wood polish

(#20) as we get a lot of dust in our house, and our current wood polishes attract dust like crazy.
