Zaino to Carnuba , I’m happy

Lou, I have to agree that carnuba brings out metallic best. I have black metallic paint and carnuba gives it a lot of depth; an almost three dimensional look. Great job!

Lou - did I read you correct? You use Z5 on the wheels. Is that based on the theory that it has a clear coat on them, and Z5 will make them shine?

syd,

I used Z1/Z5 on the rims because I wanted as much protection as possible. In addition, I get a great look since the rims are silver.

F 355,

I agree that you can spot zaino on a dark car, I think I can most of the time. The best description I have heard is the saran wrap look. The picture in the second post of this thread shows it well. Look at the lower portion of the car, that is the saran wrap look.

Yea, thats what alot of people here do.

Apply Zaino or Klasse for the shine and protection, then top with a carnuaba like S100/P21S for the depth. :up

Newbie here. Well I joined about three yrs ago but don't really get on the web much. Too busy!!

I use Klasse on the paint and then top off with a high-content Carnauba called Swissol. I prefer it to Zymol. Don't know if you can get it over in the US. Its made in Switzerland by a paint company.

Don't know what it is. It just seems to add more character and depth. Certainly makes it wetter than Klasse alone (which is great anyway).

Pajero.

Thats exactly what I tried this week..Put 3 coats of Z5 and topped with 2 coats of S100..The S100 cuts down some of the Z's

"plastic" look while giving a deeper shine..

As I stated in the first message of this thread, I want to update on Zymol Carbon vs S100.

As a recap, Zymol Carbon on roughly 1/2 the car, S100 on the other 1/2.

Three months have gone by. The car has spent very little time in the sun, mostly in a garage or parking structure. We have had cool temperatures until recently. The car has been in a little rain, but not much. So these are ideal conditions for carnuba waxes.

Possibly six washes, all with Zymol Cleanse

I see no difference at all between the two products. Both still bead like crazy, and the carnuba, deep, wet look is still there.

So pick by price or smell, either product works well. S100 is cheaper. S100 smells like crayons, Zymol smells tropical.

I don't want to kidnap the thread but I am going to try Zaino for the first time in my Vette (torch red).

I am thinking to apply zaino and then P21S. This will get a better look for my car (I hope!!!!!). Ok let's say it is time to apply a second hand of Zaino after a few weeks. Will I have a problem because I have a layer of wax? or the idea to use dawn to wash the car and get rid of waxes is only for the first time?

I am confused......

Yeah, still can't beat the look of carnauba on a dark color. Really brings out the richness in the color. I use "brandx" on the wifes' Indigo Blue Envoy, looks awesome, much deeper than Zaino.

PM me about "brandx" if you want to know ...... Forum rules prevent me from naming it, which is ok.

Do you sell this product or are in any way affiliated with this "brandx" company?

If so..... :nono

Was there ever an answer for this? I'm about to use Zaino as well on my vette. I want the protection and the depth. What happens after the Wax?

Great pixs.

Let's keep in prespective that Zaino is a great product also for certain situations. I too did the Z trial for a year but reverted back to carnauba based products after missing the difference in appearances on dark (black) vehicles. :wavey

I about fell out of my chair on this comment till I realized the thread was 4 years old also.:grinno:

If you top zaino with a carnuba and want to apply more zaino, you will have to do a dawn wash to remove the carnuba.

Zaino has some a long way in 3.5 yrs. I am very happy with how Z5pro looks on darks vs carnubas, expecially when topped with Z8.
