Zaino to Carnuba , I’m happy

will the dawn take all the zaino off as well?

Probably not.

Personally, I rarely top sealants. If I am working on a color that I feel looks best finished with a carnauba, I don't use a sealant underneath. No compatibility issues then.

Hat Trick- Same here, no more topping sealants, noting that I've never used Zaino.

And FWIW I wouldn't trust a Dawn wash to remove wax, certainly not well enough to allow for reapplication of a sealant. IMO Dawn's wax-stripping abilities are generally *vastly* over-rated. This whole "how do you add more sealant once you've topped?" thing is one of the big reasons why I quit topping sealants, I like to add more from time to time without redoing the whole prep process.

If you top it and want to add more Zaino, I'd at least use ZAIO first.

Unless you use Meg's waxes/sealants. The are supposed to be compatible, which is a nice feature. Sometimes I like #21, others #16, sometimes #26.

Yeah, good point...I didn't think of that. The way all the Meg's stuff is compatible (even their "pure polishes" under sealants) really *is* a nice feature :xyxthumbs

Let's keep in prespective that Zaino is a great product also for certain situations. I too did the Z trial for a year but reverted back to carnauba based products after missing the difference in appearances on dark (black) vehicles.

Demostrates how much Zaino has improved in the last 4-5 years. :xyxthumbs

More importantly, my prep skills have alleviates the need for optical alterations to produce the best appearance for for my vehicles.

You will never hear me bad-mouth Carnauabas. I used them for over 40 years in the Northeast and never a problem with protection with my then youthful energy, free time and ability to wax every 2 weeks or so. Now I can have better results with less need to pamper the finish soooo often. :)
