Zaino still king? Looking for options?

IF I was to try something I would try the Wekstatt (sp?) stuff as I heard good things about them in comparison to KSG for a while now

Werkstat Prime and Acrylic Jett are often times considered next generation versions of Klasse AIO and Sealant Glaze. Prime and Acrylic Jett behave very similar to its Klasse cousins but seem to have better durability, wetness and gloss per Scottwax and numerous others on here.

I have been using Werkstat Prime Strong and Acrylic Jett and have been very happy with both. Now that both bottles are quite low, I will give Prime Acrylic and Acrylic Jett Trigger a try.

Exactly what I've heard and why I want to try it

I just cut n paste this from their website, what do you think as my starter kit? I am undecided if the Zaino Clear Seal is worth the cost for such a small bottle? Doesn't Optimum make something similar?

As for ZFX, the dry time doesn't effect me because it's my weekend car:dance And thanks to a member here, my local nissan dealer sells the whole line at the same price. :bow

Z-16 Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss $12.95

Z-2 Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes $14.95

Z-AIO Z-AIO All-in-one $26.95

Z-CS Z-CS Clear Seal $29.95

Z-6 Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray $9.95

Z-7 Z-7 Show Car Wash $8.95

Total: $103.70

I'd probably get the Z8 and drop the Clear Seal, depending on how often you like to apply products to your car. The Vette guys figure about 40-60 applications of Z-CS per bottle, so it will last awhile, but I think Z8 offers a little more in the looks department.

I will also alternate Z2 and Z5 when I throw a quick layer on after a wash.

Just my two cents.

I have most of the JW line. Good stuff ,but has the sealant plasticy look and definately mutes metallic. Durability is ok , not in Zaino class.

so Werkstat mutes the metallics? i don't want that to happen - it's going on a black sapphire metallic.

Wolfgang sealant works over oil based glazes and doesnt effect durability. The base suggest my Wolfgang, the Wolfgang paintwork prep product contains oils (:xyxthumbs you know who u are!).

RMG makes metalic and pearl POP, put some Wolfgang sealant over it and its a great combo. Add on the Easter Sale at Autogeek and its a no brainer.

Not that I can tell and I've used Werkstat on a ton of different cars.

Prime and Acrylic Jett. No muting.

Very cool. I had no idea that Wolfgang's sealants would play well over an oil base. Good to know.

For me it definately did. It darkened the paint and the metallic was muted big time. You will get guys saying it doesn't and possibly pictures ,but trust me I have a metallic red car and there are some products that just don't match up well . I think Z5 pro , Z8 and ZCS are awesome on metallic. I have also found that CG WMF is awsome too. I have recently been trying a product from DeepFinish called Swax and love it on metallics.

Definitely give Zaino a shot. I'll keep this brief. I spent thousands of dollars on every new product that came out under the sun until one day I decided to give zaino a whack. I haven't bought anything new since. It's been almost 2 years now.

If you place an order with Zaino, you're doing yourself a disservice by not getting Z8. It is by far the easiest sealant I've ever used (much easier than Opti-seal, even). Looks are fantastic and durability is decent. I'll bet I could do a car in 45 seconds if I tried. Looks are on par with AJT, maybe a bit wetter. I use Werkstat for the most part, but Z-8 really is an impressive product. I have a bottle of Z-2 that I rarely use. Fine product, but I like AJT better.

I'm confused with Werkstat, do I get the Prime, Prime:Acrylic or Prime:Strong as my base foundation on a new car?

As for the LSP, do you prefer Acrylic Jett or Acrylic Jett: Trigger?

And for a QD, I assume the Acrylic Glos?

:hairpull :thx

Either Prime is fine, Prime Strong has more cut. AJ Trigger is very easy to use so I'd go with it. Acrylic Glos is a pretty decent QD.

I am a die hard Zaino guy but over the last year Opti-Seal has been my go to over and over and over again. I am not so sure I would use Zaino other than the winter anymore.

I am going to have to try Zaino as I always stayed away for different reasons... I want to test its durability and see if it is in fact that great

Me too until I tried it! I really like it and think it's a very unique product. I can't wait to use up all the sealants I have to concentrate on using it more. Plus Sal is a great guy to speak with.
