Zaino fell out of favor?

I guess its time to start comparing some of the new products out there. I'm not sure that I'm game for this Opti-Coat stuff. I haven't seen a definitive answer on whether or not it looks as nice as the products that require regular re-application like sealants and waxes.

Give Meg's Ultimate Wax a try. Great looks, gives that amped up look, not quite as good as Z2, but the protection is there. You've got nothing but time to lose, you'll get your money back if you don't like it.

I haven't been on here in years. Back when Zaino was all the rage. Well, have never stopped using it. I don't really know what is new and exciting , but I'm familiar with most of the products mentioned here. I must say for a garage kept vehicle, it's hard to beet Zaino. Durability is fantastic, and now that I dont have a ton of time detailing my H2 , Zaino is so easy to Put on and take off. I was using Z2 for a couple years and lately noticed some minor spider webbing. I opened up my Z5 and put on 1 layer and all the fine spider webbing went away. And Z6 just rocks! I guess,I was one of those zealots, Zaino just works for me. I never had much luck with Z8 being so wonderous and never took toZCS.

I will echo this 100%!!

I really think Zaino was (and still is) in the forefront of not just leading technology, but marketing. What other line has had such a distinct group of people that go above and beyond to praise their cherished line?? Chemical companies and resellers would kill for this!!

I still use and have yet to see any other product blow away the performance of Z2 / Z7 / Z8 / Z16 / Borderfree towels. Many come close, but these right here are still great in my book!

And if Sal is reading this......:wavey

IIRC Z-6 and Z-8 are completely different products. Z-8 is actually a spray wax

Z8 seems to make water bead a whole lot better than Z6, but I always liked the gloss better from Z6.

I just stumbled across this thread no sooner than I had told my wife of 28 years I was actually thinking of thinning down my detailing supplies. After 35 years of waxing polishing etc I have decided that among the top products there is a lot less difference than there used to be 25-30 years ago. After going full circle I have bought Zanio again after years of not using it and was reminded how good it looks on light colors and how easy to use it is. Now I find out that it is not "protecting" my paint just making it beed water. How can I thin my closet of supplies if I don't even know that a product I have used many many times is not protecting?

Well its back to the drawing board for me I guess

Right. No reason to look for problems that you don't have. Now if etching/etc. does become a problem, that'd be different.
