What do you guys think about autopia's pricing and such?

See any redundancy or "you dont need this starting out" kinds of items? Anything i might have overlooked?

I'm supposed to go home on my 2 week leave in 7 days :)



It was pushed back a week... i was supposed to leave tomorrow... hopefully it wont be cancelled all together. 300 soldiers were sent home for "emergency" leave due to Katrina.
 
I can do it by hand :) The paint on our cars is pretty close to perfect in the first place. swirls/spider webbing is minor... on top of that... i have buddies in the auto-body industry... if it's bad anywhere i can get it done professionally for free :)
 
First off, don't pay 30 for the hose nozzle: go to sears becuase there is the same one for 10 bucks. The OXO brushes you can do without, and clay lube and engine cleaner can be made out of stuff you already have; for clay lube, use a mixture of water and car wash, then get some simple green and make solutions for engine cleaning. That right there essentilally saves you 50 bucks! Also, go through the stuff and be absolutely sure you need it, like those 303 wiper and windsheild treaments.

What about the contours of your body lines? seams, body panels, ground effects, etc.?



If you dont use a wash brush...
 
Do you guys purchase Sonus Towels locally or do you use another brandname? Is sonus typically more expensive than other manufacturers?

Any of the Oxo brushes are good so I'd keep those, but I'd drop the "Grit Guard". I just don't think the GG really lives up to the marketing hype and save another ~ 10 bucks.



Autogeek.net has Poorboy's, Detailers Pride, etc. lines that are available in 32 oz.+ sizes so you could save some $ by buying bulk quantities. Several of the boutique products gouge you with the small quantities and higher prices.
