My '06 Grand Prix has been in the impound for over a year and the cops were nice enough to leave a frozen pizza in there ALL of last summer. I'm getting it back soon, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. It's about as stinky as stinky gets and I'm afraid I might have to replace the entire interior.
IF the smell is as bad as you say you could rent a ozone machine and also use a product called odor extinguisher which is a product that is made from lava rock. If you can access the car before you get it out of the impound lot you could place the odor extinguisher in the vehicle while the windows are closed and that would give you a great start. With my vast expierence I have in crime and death scene clean up I can tell if I saw the vehicle if things are going to work or not. I am sure the odor has permiated the the cloth material etc and the metal. Remember that most products mask the odor and will come back to haunt you when the humidity is high. Good luck and I hope it works for you.
