I just got finished with my detail for BimmerFest West this Saturday the 1st of May. I polished with Menzerna IP & FP, and then the WG twins with two layers of WG sealant and then a topper of EX-P! :D All I can say is that silver can look wet and deep! :xyxthumbs

Here are a couple of pics in the garage.

I will post more pics outside and from BimmerFest West.

Cheers,

It's just incredible how good it looks to me. What a fresh inspiration! I was going to use just EX-P alone, but your total process looks so very good I must try it myself this weekend. I have wondered about ALL these products for several weeks and it's just great you've used ALL of them together! Thanks for sharing this and the pics! :bow

NICE WORK! :up

i've tried topping WG with Souveran on my red SC430 and WOW, nice effect!

I heard others topping it with EX-P. Gonna have to give it a try.

Thanks guys! :D

I actually got the inspiration from fellow recipie meister blkZ28Conv! :bow

I also have done my wifes '04 Titanium Silver X5 4.4 sport with VM topped with EX-P - also a very nice combo. I will post mort pics soon.

Cheers,

Killer photo, I love that Wolfgang but with EX-P as a topper ,what a combo. I been useing Pinnacle Signature Series as a topper. When I run out of Pinnacle I might try some EX-P, but I am sticking to the wolf!!!!!!!!:up

"I actually got the inspiration from fellow recipie meister blkZ28Conv!"

LOL :D

I got the idea from a pix that Scott Ph.D. (doctor of paint care) posted of a Mercedes trunk with AIO and EX-P.

The tools you used were great but the artist, Andrew, painted the picture. :xyxthumbs

AMP 01 WOW!!! Excellent work! :bow

What a outstanding paint appearance!!! It will be blinding in sunlight.

I hope Steve (Poorboy) and WG patented their formulas. They are incredible products, especially when dancing together after a meticulous prep (Menzerna twins and/or AIO). :xyxthumbs

Good luck at the show answering all those questions about how you got your paint to look sooooo good.

Guten Dag and back to the lab ;)

...or not answering the questions, allowing your secret to remain just that:D

Looks as though I have a new combo to play with on my mother's 740 (after I finish cursing the wheels). Excellent work.

why did u top a sealant with a sealant, id think you would top it with a carnuba wax of some sort. but it looks good though :xyxthumbs

Because WG has such a wonderfully rich appearance alone that a carnuaba topper really added only a little to the over-all appearance from my experimenting. A nice addition but EX-P , like Emeril would say, "kicked the whole painted finish up a notch"! A big notch!!! :D

Very important fact to remember, AMP01, Scott (prep expert) and I did extreme (meticulous) Preps prior to WG and EX-P. So the majority of the credit must always go to the prep. WG and EX-P is just a great dessert with coffee after a great meal. :wavey

At the risk of sounding like a newbie (which I am :D ), do you really have to top with EX-P to get that look? From the pic I've attached below, it looks like I can get close to the same look without the EX-P just by layering WG (my hood has 3 coats).

I ask because I have some clients (well friends, really) that want to maintian their cars after I work on them and it's easier to just recommend layering on WG instead of telling them to get two different products.

(in case you're wondering, the hood is an 04 Acura TL)

No, you don't, but EX-P is so easy to use it's just like....whhhhy not. It's no different then people layering zaino 50 times and claiming that's why their paint looks great. It could be the layers, most likely the product. :nixweiss

Also look at Corey's Hood shot of the IS300. :xyxthumbs

EX-P is not a requirement for a great looking final result. As mentioned several times WG looks great alone. Also this combo would be difficult to do for clients because of the prequisite curing time for the WG (min of 24hrs). Nevertheless, if you apply EX-P to your personal vehicle they may question why your car has the extra "POP". :nixweiss

The process and its repeatibility is quite easy. Top WG with EX-P. Maintain with EX-P until time for paint maintenence (clay/SMR/cleanser) . Use WG paint cleaner or AIO and re-apply WG sealant. Repeat cycle.

Next week I am doing a customer's (friend) black Chevy Silverado Extended Cab ($$ :D).

The process I will use is Scott's polish/ AIO/ and EX-P and compare to the WG/EX-P. :wavey
