Why doesn't anyone carry CD-2 Engine Detailer?

Thanks a lot!

I ended up finding the product here at a small auto parts store and bought 1 can. I might try to work with it today to see how it is :)

Excellent!! Let's us know what you think of it.

Take a look, and learn about screwed up companies:

I ordered three cans from LangMan37, $30 shipped, but I can't find it ANYWHERE, so it was worth it to me.

I will let you guys know when it shows up, and take some before and after pics of a dirty engine.

Thanks for sending those cans and the glaze. The CD-2 looks pretty darn good. :)

I was "playing" yesterday (part boredom, part 5 day rain forecast) with my new CD-2. It looks quite good once it dries. I'm gonna wipe some of the heavy spots with a towel..it's pretty easy to unify the appearance after the stuff sits for a day or two. I didn't do any "before" shots...sorry.

The only other product of its type I've worked with is Meg's Engine Kote....I had no luck with that product and I have a lot of it.

I'm pleased with the appearance of the CD-2. I have no idea how long it will last or how it will look when it starts to fade out. I hope it's not a mess.

it is the bomb isn't it!

Chris-

haven't forgotten about your request, just been really busy. I'll get with ya.

That's hilarious. I think that's who I got an e-mail reply about the time this thread started who said that it wasn't really available through any retail outlets.

Tom & Chris-

how much you guys use on your engine? I found that wiping with an mf after works very well.

Maybe a quarter of a can......I have been using it for a few years, and just gradually saw it diminishing on the shelves ( I could only find it at autozone when I could find it at all). I tried many different ways of putting it on, and after all of that, the best outcome was this....

Spray engine with water from Wal Mart nozzle.

Spray engine with Foamy Brite engine degreaser.

let sit for about 10 minutes.

Spray off THOUROGHLY with nozzle.

Spray approximately a quarter of a can of CD2 over engine.

Start engine, let it run for about 10 FULL minutes.

Thats it!!!!!

I noticed that when I use that process, it levels itself off by the next day, and stays that way for over a month of daily driving.

I've never wiped it after applying.

And hit me up when you are ready, I think I want a case this time.

I've only sprayed black plastic surfaces, not the entire compartment. Are people doing that?

I can see you'd easily use 1/2 can per car. I did wipe lightly the following day to blot up pools in corners. It's very easy to work with and you can achieve nearly perfect coverage w/o a silly amount of time/effort. I am anxious to see how long it lasts - - so far the stuff is a keeper.

My "local" auto parts store has it in stock. They're a small chain in eastern MA only.
