This is the type of close-up I like to do, too bad it has been cloudy so much of the summer here in Texas.

thegun, those are good examples of what appears to be a fine finish when in truth it could be completely marred and most likely is:nana:
 
I think photos can be useful as 'before and after' guides, if they're done properly. Not only for sharing on Autopia but for customers too.

My point was that photos are useless for evaluating LSP and the true state of paint from a distance.
 
I always try to get before marring pics, so long as i capture one good one i will move on. when you see a swirled up before pic i don't really see the point in reassuring everyone that the rest of the car is in bad condition too. If you see the marring in the before and it's gone in the after you should assume the whole car was swirled up. I do however like how some go to the extremes when posting click and brags, imo all you really need is one or two beores in direct sun or lamp. you know you did the same procedure to the entire car who cares if someone doubts you for lack of pics of every square inch.
