I've finally talked my son into bringing his white Acura over for detailing next week. My goal is to 1) really impress him with how spectacular his car can look so he 2) will stop saying, "Get a life, Dad." But I've never done a white car.
The car is six years old and looks pretty good, but has never been detailed; waxed, maybe, but not in the last nine months; and is not garaged. I want to finish with a durable sealant such as Zaino or Klasse or maybe Einszett Glanz Wax (Poorboy's EX?) because I can't assume he will wax it regularly. (The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.)
My thoughts are to start with DACP with a yellow cutting pad after washing and claying.
What would be a good, less agressive follow-up polish for white?
And then a glaze, or something like GEPC? Would this step even make sense when it will be followed by a synthetic?
And finally, what would be the best finishing sealant for a white car?
