Which alternative pads for UNO use?

I'm excited by the release of the new UNO pads. However, I have many other pads in stock before replacing them. Which pads are effective alternatives to use with UNO?

I use both Megs and LC pads. Can you recommend the closest option from both brands for cutting and finishing?

I use megs pads almost exclusively, though sometimes use a white LC pad on the GG6. UNO behaves very well with the maroon and yellow pads. I use P085RD as a finishing polish so I can't comment on how UNO works with the tan pads.

Anyone? Ben? :sadwavey:

Sorry, was a holiday weekend and was AWOL.

I have not really used the Lake Country Pads much. If you have buff & shine there, those work well (yellow polish, black finish). Meg burgonady/marron is good as yakky and Tdekany mention.

I had good success with orange and white LC pads. I need new pads and will pick up the new HD pads as well as the LC Hydro Tech pads

UNO will work well with all pads, but my all time favorite DA cutting pad to use with it is the Meg's MF. The UNO finishing pads (green/red) allow the product to finish out perfect.

David, have you tried the MF pads on a *semi-RO* machine like a Flex or Makita BO6040 (which is what I use)?

Mostly reach for and use a DA/MF. I've had very little problems getting paint perfect with it.

I'll have to do some researching to dig up some conversations about the Flex aspect. It's been a while and because I don't use this machine I honestly can't remember the issues, but it was specifically with about the MF system used with the Flex. I have yet to hear any comments about that pad/machine with UNO though. Maybe someone else can chime in this?

I have no idea how long the MF system alone would have taken me with this Audi paint, but I wouldn't want to find out. :D 4 days was enough with 105/uno/wool etc....

I've heard some have dropped their rotary altogether.

I have(mostly) and know several others that have too. It's pretty much a personal preference as long as you're happy. I have yet to use the Flex/wool combo (I don't own a Flex), but know others (such as Thomas) that get wonderful results.
