Whats the difference with this Meg's Deep Crystal System and there other products???

Since you want to remove swirls and scratches by hand, I'd recommend ScratchX...its an excellent product for what your trying to achieve.

The only negative is that it'll probably cost more.

When i try to use Stratch X by hand with an MF applicator buffed off with MF all it does is haze the paint, none of my swirls are removed. :( I usually top it with AIO to return the sheen. But none of the swirls ever end up removed. Any tips on application?

I really hope that i could use Scratch X as a swirl remover (for small areas, without breaking otu the PC), but i can't get any results.

i dont know if i wanna do the whole car with scratchx. Theres gotta be another swril/scratch remover that i can use by hand. I just may go for the 9 or 80. If they are pretty much similer i may pick up the 9 at my local auto store. otherwise i gotta buy the 80 online somewhere

Ya' know, I think I'm going to take back what I said about ScratchX possibly costing more. I was thinking that because it comes in small (7oz.) tubes while products like #80 come in bigger bottles (32oz.).

The cost per of the product (ScratchX, 7.99/7oz. = 1.14/oz. : M-8032, $14.99 /32 oz. = 0.47/oz. : M-0916, $10.99/16 oz. = 0.69/oz.) isn't what's important, it's the cost to get the job done. If you have to use three times as much #80 and expend twice as much labor to get the same effect you're losing the game.

So, for hand, my suggestion is to use ScratchX on swirls and scratches or wherever it seems to work better and use DC1&DC2 or #9 or #80 (or MPP if you can still find it) for the larger areas that don't need lots of attention. If the whole thing needs elbow grease stick with the ScratchX all the way or get a machine.

That's pretty weird. Have you tried foam applicators? ScratchX has always worked well for me whether I was using foam, terry or mf applicators with mf or terry towels for removal.

Were you buffing it dry? I haven't noticed any difference with ScratchX but in theory you should work the product hard (with passion as Barry like to say) until it's not quite dry (sort of goes from white to clear) and wipe off.

yep. I was buffing it out. Circlular or Horizontal strokes? I don't own any foam apps besides my PC ones... :(

I'll try again and take pics and report back in a few mins.

Some people have had great results using ColorX and NXT. ColorX will give the paint a deep cleaning with alittle swirl removal, alittle swirl hiding, and alittl protection.

NXT will go further with its swirl hiding abilities, and it produces one of the nicest looks available.

It is possible with these 2 products (i would clay also), to make your vehicle look like it was gone over with a dedicated swirl removal product(s).

This is what i personally would do if you plan on doing your vehicle by hand, unless you have bionics :)

Here's a great tutorial by Mike Phillips about how to use ScratchX:

Cult Leader, I'd really suggest you go #80 of the new Mothers PowerPolish...IMO you'll be throwing your money away with #9.

Excellent link Alfisti!

In the article Mike says that either straight or circular motions are ok. I feel that I can lay into hardest in straight lines when Iâ€â„¢m trying to really work it.
