What's in your Car Wash Shampoo Rotation

For the foam gun, I'm using Meguiars Hyper Wash currently. CG CWG is right behind it.

Followup after the foam, the bucket wash is either Griots or CG CG, depending on what level of grime I'm working with.

Just curious what you guys are using.

Foam cannon with cg maxisuds/2 bucket with cg cwg, boars hair brush and gilmour gun with cg cwg(new favorite wash method), and onr garry dean method as well if you count it.

Foam gun has CG honey dew snow foam, followed up by either Meguiar's Gold class or P21s car shampoo (two bucket) depending on which vehicle I'm washing.

Griot's Car Wash in both the foamguns (6 oz shampoo + water to make a gallon of concentrate) and the wash bucket.

But then I suspect I don't use my foamgun quite the same way that most people do; for me it's not really about a presoak.

NXT, nothing works better with super hard water for me. Sadly its getting very hard to find now. Only real downside is its hard on dirt and LSPs.

Im using Duragloss wash at the moment in my foam gun but I use it per the original Accumulator way. Its always flowing over my paint as I wisk with mitts. I have to refill the foam gun once on average during the wash. it depends how dirty the car is--rarely is more than one day of rain-diven dirty.

Good heavens, how do you do a whole car with so little?!? OK, you're not washing filthy Crown Vics or a Tahoe, but still

Guess it's that "washing an already pretty-clean car" factor.

I can't remember the last time I used less than ~2 gallons of concentrate for a wash, and that really is a minimum.

Are there people that use a foam gun together with a soap bucket to wash a car? You know, spray the panel with the foam gun, and immediately soak your sponge in your soap bucket and then wash said panel?

Everyone has their own different way of doing things.

Some people, cough, cough, use their foam gun as a sweeping rinse..

I foam, then rinse off and then proceed with a typical sponge wash.

Lately ive been using the gilmour gun spraying into the boar hair brush to wash. Do a couple panels then rinse. The foam cannon for the pressure washer hasnt seen action for a bit.

Yeah I havent washed a truly filthy car since I moved from Jersey. Dirty here constitutes having driven in rain. I do have my concentrate mixed up at any given time and I do use probably around 2 gallons to do my father's. "grunt mobile" mini van. I have car wash stashed all over the place

I basically use the wash buckets to hold the wash media; if I'm using a BHB then the mitts soak in the bucket. After I rinse whatever I'm using, I dunk it in the wash bucket again before spraying it down with the foamgun. So for me, the wash bucket is basically just a holding area and a means of saturating a freshly-rinsed wash medium with shampoo mix.

Big thing for me is using the foamgun to spray sudsy output at the point of wash medium-to-paint contact.

That "spraying into" sounds good to me :xyxthumbs

Does the foamgun keep the BHB rinsed clean, or is your "then rinse.." step still required? With my boosted pressure the foamgun basically keeps the BHB rinsed clean enough that I don't really *have* to rinse it conventionally unless I'm doing some truly awful area.

Heh heh, OK, now I can understand how you're doing it with so little shampoo mix!
