I am looking to get some wax for a friend of mine for Christmas. His car is white, I was thinking p21s but I am not sure.

Buy him some Vintage........:D

P21S is a good wax, I like it for the easy on / easy off use. I also like Pinnacle Souveran.

I think white looks best with a sealant, it makes it have more pop and sparkle.

On my white car, I've tried Meg's Hi-Tech Wax, Mother's Carnauba, Liquid Souveran with polycharger, and more recently Opti-Seal. Opti-Seal is by far the best, not to mention, the ease of application.

You might be right about OS on white, but he was looking for a wax and not a sealant.

Agree. Love Opti-seal on white. That would be my choice. However, if you want a good one for white, FK1000P looks great on white

By the time you've buffed off the last panel, the first will need re-doing. Seriously, it's not good on durability.

#16 gets my vote for white.

I think it depends on what kind of care the car gets. Most carnauba's don't have the durability of a sealant and will attract more dust, but they give more depth. A sealant will generally last longer and most are usually easier to apply. Also while the liquid souveran is for lighter colors it's shelf life is shorter than most other waxes or sealants.

I guess it all depends on how well the car is taken care of and if the wax, or sealant if you choose, will just be used on the one car a couple times a year or a few different cars.

If I were giving a wax to a non-Autopian, especially one with a white car, I'd go with Collinite 845. Easy to use, very durable, and impressive beading (characteristics that will elicit "wow, that wax you gave me is great stuff!").

Hey, I *have* given 845 to people before, and they were always wowed by it.

I just didn't find P21s all that great (rather use #16), and I don't think it'll come across as anything special.
