what product has far exceeded your expectations?

I'm just a hobbyist without a whole lot of experience. With that in mind, the following did exceed my expectations: FK1 425, 1000P and PW, DG AW, 303 AP, and CG's range of 8.75mm buffing towels.

CG Wet Mirror Finish

CG Citrus Wash+Gloss

XMT 360

The whole Zaino line

The Menzerna line up as well as The optimum polishes

I would have to say Megs. Color X.I did a quick wax job on a black Cadillac, and it came out better then expected. It cleaned very good , was easy to use, and didnt dry white in all the cracks. It brough out a lot of depth in the black paint and really looked good . This is now my go too cleaner wax for a fast job.

Richard Lin's Black Wow. It's for black plastic, primarily. A little goes a long way. The results are amazing. It cleans 'white residue' from the black completely and leaves it nice and dark. Water beeds nicely. Highly recommended.

I just remembered a second one......TR3 resin glaze. I used it in the early 80's and was floored by it. However, i couldn't find it for years so i stopped using it. Then when i found it again a couple years ago i tried it and it sucked ! Did they change the formula or what? I wondered if maybe i got a can that had been on the shelf forever or some such thing because the TR3 i used back in the 80's was amazing. My ex girlfriend back then gave it to me because her dad was part owner in the company. I shoulda stayed with her....she got it for me free :)

Anyways, has anyone used it and does anyone know the story behind that stuff as far as any formula changes?

Heard it is a good product, I believe it's just an AutoBrite product rebadged?

That would be surprising. Richard's story is that he developed it in partnership with his father, who is a retired chemist, specifically because the Minors that he likes to drive have a lot of black plastic around the wheel wells. There's a thread on it here:Black WOW - ShowCarDetailing.

Same here with the TR3...years ago it was a great product, quite comparable IMO to today's Collonite 845. Don't know what happened; tried some last year and it was terrible.

1. waffle weave towel - it just floored me the first time I used one

2. ONR - actually it was QEW at first but I like ONR better.....it still amazes me.

3. PC - the one tool that allows me to prep my car so that it doesn't really matter what LSP product I use. They all look great on a properly prepped car so it just comes down to personal preference (which in my case is ease of use so I opt for Werkstatt twins for my base and Optimum Car Wax used after my ONR wash).

Sorry but you're incorrect. This is a custom formula developed by myself and my father. How many people can claim to have a father that was head of R&D for Max Factor?? Or has been a chemical consultant for all the major cosmetic companies for the past 40 years??

There is nothing rebadged about Black Wow--it was developed from the ground up.

Richard

Octane's correct. I read all about it on North american motoring.

See if you can get him to develop an after rinse drying aid that makes towel drying not needed. I've got great sheeting so far from mine but you still have to do a couple blots to absorb the few vertical lines left on the paint.

For me, it has to be Clearkote's Vanilla Moose Glaze. Every time I use it, it just amazes me the finish it leaves on almost any surface.

I have a bunch of products that have exceedeed my expectations:

Autoint decon system

TOL purple clay

Colinite IW

Z2Pro

Klasse AIO

FK1 Pink Wax

Magic eraser

Megs Sof Buff pads

Menzerna polishes (PG, IP, Micro Polish, 85rd, 106ff)

Paint Perfection glaze

Gilmore foam spray gun

PB Bold n' Bright

Plexus

What do you like about TOL purple clay? Would you consider it comparable to Sonus green (ultra-fine) clay in terms of abrasiveness?

Also, what made you impressed with the Autoint decon system?
