First off i wanna say hello i am new here....

My car is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Now my question/problem.....

This is really getting on my nerve, I have used Paint scrubber and cleaner and still does not clear this up, i have taken to a buffer to it and still nothing. You can only see in certain angles of sunlight

This pic was taken after a wash

And this is a pic when light is not hitting the car

I noticed it one day after a day of detailing. At night time the car is a mirror and reflects every thing that it can see.

I can't really make out the first picture and the second picture isn't working :(

But it resembles hologramming. Have you had your car buffed with a rotary lately? Any paint work done to that panel?

yhea, I can't really see what it is.

Do the marks kinda look like this?

Have those marks always been there or did they come after you detailed it.

It is hard to see in the pix so i really can't give an answer.

Can you provide better pix or better description of the dmgs

I might be blind but I still can't see it that clearly in the second picture... I'm don't even know what i'm looking for :(

TooFastGTP Can you answer some of our previous questions? Some more descriptions of the problem?

The more information you give us, the more chance we can help you in return.

the only other way i can describe it is as a white film of some kind or when the light hits hit hit looks like dust that will not wipe off, it is only visable when light hits it at a certin angle

So when you run your fingers over it, you can feel a rough/bumpy surface?

You've tried a light abrasive and buffer...

And you can only see it in the sunlight...

MMMMMMMM...

I am stumped.

Much better. Thanks. :xyxthumbs

More guesses could be taken if you could provide a little more description of the problem. The damage isn't translating very well in the pictures. It looks like the clear coat is marred a little bit. Nothing that a couple hours with a rotary wouldn't fix. Beyond that, I really don't know what to tell you. You should probably take it into a local detail shop and have them tell you what it is. They will do that without charging you usually. They can give you an idea of what can be done to fix it too.

Does the paint appear to be foggy when the light is shining on it?

Also, if you look at the sun's reflection in the paint, does it have rings (scratches) around it?

If the first symptoms are true, I would say light oxidization. Another possibility here would be light scratches.

The scratch rings aroud the sun's reflection would indicate swirls.

In both these situations, abrasives are required to correct it.

I have some foggyness around my door handle. I believe it was either wetsanded and not polished, or a harsh compound was used there and not followed up by a lighter one. I guess that is what happens when you haven't owned a car for it's whole life...:nixweiss and no, I haven't attempet to correct my problem yet...

P.S.

do you wax in a circular motion? Some dirt could have gotten in your pad...it has happened to me...

What products are those that you have used? Also, what did you use with the buffer, and was it an oribtal or rotary?
