You figure you loose what 10% to 20% from the crank to the wheels. That means that car is over 700hp at the crank, thats amazing power for something street legal

ebpcivicsi said:I am new to Menzerna line, but with my limited use I will say that the 3M PI-III MG has a bit more cut ..[than FPII].. I think FP-II is a bit more mild and leaves a better finish. Perhaps someone with more experience with both products can shed some more light on the subject...
Accumulator said:I've only used the FPI but AFAIK the cut is basically the same between the two versions.
Remember when I mentioned the MG in refernce to my S8? I used it after the true corrective work to remove micromarring. It left a nice finish but not as good as I wanted (it's good enough for my minivan though). I used the Meznerna FP and it looked better-and not just "polished another time better". So yeah, FP finishes out finer than the 05937 does.
After using the FP, I then tried the 1z Pro MP and it looked even better than the FP did. That was when I got sold on the PI-III MG/1Z Pro MP progression for my final polishing steps. Haven't touched the FP since as I don't see any advantage over the 1Z Pro MP, but that'd be different if the stuff the Pro MP leaves behind were to be a problem for some reason.
I hear they might not have discontinued the 1Z Pro MP after all, I think it's PakShack that still has it. Might be worth trying sometime, it's still my favorite final polish.
ebpcivicsi said:Hmm, interesting. Do you have any idea how the pro differs from the version that I have (retail?)?
Do you think that the pro version is "functionally abrasive"enough to remove mild buffer swirls left over from say PI-III MG or OP @1500 RPM's on black paint? I would be using it via cyclo or PC with a mild polishing pad.
I need some new MF for *my* paint anyways, may need to throw in the 1Z pro MP too.![]()
ebpcivicsi said:If it is basically the same level of abrasiveness as FP-II, it should work for me.
Accumulator said:Once you determine if that's true/not, I'd appreciate your opinion. I can't help but think how my experience with the FP was just *so* limited that I feel like I'm not just guessing but not as positive as I'd like to be either.
I do think you'd need to watch for the concealing abilities of the Pro MP, which aren't an issue with the FP. Never come back to bite me, but it did just occur to me an I wanted to mention it.

Thanks everyone!!
