What did you do detailing wise today?

Got bored and decided to see what Megs Ultimate Compound and Aut1sm wax could do to the hood of my mom`s severely neglected 02 Dakota`s hood.

So I gave it a wipe down with detail spray ( I know not ideal, but I`m still new to this, so I don`t have and rinseless or waterless wash, and I didn`t want to turn on the outside water for a test.). Then clay barred it, compounded and waxed it. It could have used a polish step in between, but it came out pretty good.

I`ll definitely be picking up a DA in the next month or so. Along with a good 2 bucket wash kit.

All done. Still not perfect. There were a lot of deeper scratches that I couldn`t get out with the Megs cutting pads and D300. I made about 5 passes and then hit them again with the three inch and it made it a little better but still there. I even hit one with the nano with the blue pad and course compound and still didn`t come out. I didn`t feel comfortable going further without know how much clear there is.

Prepping my car for maintenance correction and ceramic coating. Also debadging and getting rid of these cheap factory pinstripes.

A rare nice January weekend so a chance to wash (Gyeon Bathe); the Kamikaze combo holding up well after around 3.5 months of daily driver use.

WG Uber Ceramic still shining after 9 months (with occasional help from Gyeon Cure & Wetcoat, Kamikaze Overcoat)

mmm so many bikes, so little distance between them and the car.... It would drive me nuts. I get nervous seeing collapsible mesh laundry baskets within 1ft of my car(s).

That was just for the washing and photos.

I back the car up and there`s enough room if one of them falls over.

We had some nasty rain that left a bunch of brown spots all over, so I freaked out a bit when I saw the car and gave it a RW as soon as I got home. Topped with Sonax BSD then parked in the garage in case it craps out again. I think the insane wind is lifting up clay/dirt from nearby construction site.

we had the same exact thing here in College Station. The wind has been blowing all day.

Nothing detail related for for me today, unless you count running the windshield cleaner and wipers on the way to church this morning :)

cars stayed dirty; today turned into a solid family day. OK by me.

Deep Gloss Liquid seal looks like it doesn`t leave that much protection. This is two coats only after a week of being on. No water beading or sheeting.

I will. I was going to this morning before I went to work. But time.got away from me. Hopefully I get home.early enough Friday to wash it so I don`t show up to a detail job Saturday with a filthy car.

The local tunnel wash was banking from that. When I went to the store, a bunch of cars were covered in that and another group was freshly "washed" . The fresh window streaks and slimy tires gave `em away.
