What did you do detailing wise today?

I made a thread asking for help on the bike I got... and I couldn`t wait.

Ended up attacking it with a ton of combos until I found something that gave me acceptable (not perfect, never will be without a repaint) results. Used the GG6 with a 3" bp and pads.

Started with a yellow pad and Meg`s UC, then an orange pad with UC, then white and UP, then blue and Essence. First time using Essence and, although it has a bit of a learning curve to it it seems, I like it.

Finished it off with Blackfire BlackIce. That was just the windscreen and front... I still have the tank and side fairings to do.:wacko: I should probably sleep for a while though.

Made a goodie box for a friend helping me work on my car tomorrow

Any upcoming review for it? :) I live in Seattle and in need of a long-lasting glass coating!! My customers want something stronger than the Pinnacle Glass Sealant. The only answer is to go with an affordable glass coating I suppose!

I was not planning on it but I guess I could put something together. I just didn`t take too many photos of the process. I am going to compare this against DP Glass Coating (which is now McKee`s 37). I`ll cobble something together.

Detailed my mother`s Ford Fusion for her.

I cracked open my gallon of CG Citrus Wash and Gloss as I`m almost out of Meg`s Hyper-Wash. Unfortunately, I didn`t like it the soap very much. CG CWG smelled like Mr. Clean and didn`t clean very well. I had to go over some area`s multiple times with my Monaro wool wash mitt.

I also tried (for the first time) BF WD WW (old recipe @ 1:4 ratio) and wasn`t a fan as well. This one smells a bit like Pine-sol or lemon dawn. I presoaked her car with 32oz @ 1:4 and it started to dry before I could finish spraying it down (in the shade, on a hot sunny day). Obviously, the WW presoak didn`t work that well as I had to go over some areas multiple times during my two bucket wash.

On the plus side, CarPro Hydro Foam is still beading very strong. Water acts just like my ceramic coated car.

Today was a good to day to wax. Liquid Natty`s Red on everything but the hood & front bumper,
that I wanted to try the wax double banger of first Natty`s Blue Paste wax, no wipe off, then lay Liquid Red on top.
Wipe everything off at same time. I hope I got this right.
The 2 waxes look spectacular ! There was a noticeable demarcation line.
whoever came up with this technique- you know who you are :yay Thank you

touched up the nose of a vette. did the best I could.

used denibber. these are the sanding tips. interesting how you see the tip wear away as you use it. also, my son tried to grab one out of the box. tore the foam off, very soft foam

IIRC the no wipe method was for black hole and then a nattys paste on top .. but im sure it works just fine that way too

I think you might have needed the chilled spray and gloss in between to shock the wax (lowering the solvents so it can cure faster)

either way. you got the spirit down! pics??

played around with my new Carrand tire brush and Adam`s Turbo Stick. I think i finally found a tire brush i like

While i was at it, i gave my "beater" car a quick wash. Since i had already done a light AIO polish on it months ago, there was barely any contamination, so i went straight to applying PBs Polish w/ Sealant (thank you Brandt for the Sample!!) on the entire hood , and HD Speed on roof with half of it topped with Poxy (another shout out to Brandt for the Poxy sample). The trunk and rest of the car was sprayed with D156.

I plan on washing the car once every two weeks , and since it sits outside 24/7 , it`ll be a good subject to test durability on these products.

Half of this hood had been hit with 105/205 a few months ago (i was trying out some foam disks) ,so you`ll notice that the passenger side looks faded/blurry and the driver side a lot more clear.

Rooftop already has signs of CC failure, so i didn`t spend much time trying to get any correction from Speed, just 2 or 3 passes to work the product in.

Both PB and HD behaved well outside in the 93 degree weather. I left Poxy sit on there for a while and it came off effortlessly.
