What did you do detailing wise today?

Ok Maybe I shouldn`t have left water hose splash water on my car for a week

Still testing out this color coded cosmicv1...hope these wash out one the sun rises and I can get to it

Absolutely zero issue on the csl+exo+pa panels...the hood tho is Only cosmicv1(color matched metallic black)+ pa sprays

And yes, I know it`s time to qtip polish inside the emblem..actually considering a carbon fibre hellcat replica hood in the future

Finished up this 17 Fusion Sport today. 2 step polish with CSL topped with C2V3. There were some deeply etched water spots that wouldn`t come out of the roof. They looked like they deformed the paint some. Non the less the customer was stoked when he picked it up.

No pics but I emptied out my bass boat and vacuumed out all the compartments then vacuumed the deck then wiped down the deck plate with rinseless wash under all the compartment lids. Also started relining all my rods and organizing gear, almost time to go fishing.

It`s a nice day here in Pa., so I washed the car at the coin wash and sprayed it with a gloss enhancer/drying aid that I wanted to use up. The Meguiar`s tire spray only had about 1/3 of a tire left in it.

70 degrees in `ol Cleveland today, perfect chance to peel away some of the salt, brine, chemical de-icer and other assorted winter grime and see if the coating is still there.

70 miles a day on 4 of the worst freeways in town and it`s been a pretty harsh one this year.

Pressure Rinse
Gyeon Foam
Whips Wax Road Salt Remover
Pressure Rinse
Gyeon Bathe Bucket wash
Gyeon Tar on back end, sides of car
Pressure Rinse
Gyeon Foam
Pressure Rinse
Gyeon Bathe Bucket wash
Flood Rinse
Spray car with rain-like nozzle, looks like everything is back to beading/sheeting as normal.

Sides were looking weak as was back end but each step improved it and the Gyeon Tar finished the job.

Flood rinse
Dry
Infinity Wax
Overcoat later - guessing I`ll streak the heck outta that step, usually use as drying aid to help prevent streaking. If it comes in a spray bottle, I can make it streak; it`s a special gift I have.

The Gyeon View on the windshield has been starting to fade lately (applied 8 months ago or so) so I polished it off and went with IGL Window. Not surprising, really, as I`ve gone thru about 8 gallons of washer fluid in the last 3 months.

2 areas of a scratch or two, 1 on trunk back, one on passenger door near handle (jewelry no doubt)...lotsa little hits/pits on front bumper from salt...doh!

All in all, not bad considering all the tough miles. Got car new last June/July, nearing 14k miles already; why do I always pick black? And why is the primer under the colorcoat white?

It appears I`ll have plenty of opportunities to test all hydrophobic behavior in the next few days. Too bad winter isn`t *really* over yet.

FWIW, ended up applying the Overcoat by spritzing in a dry Platinum Pluffle and for whatever reason, no streaking, which is a first for me using products of this type.

Dunno why this worked better for me than using something like a Gyeon PolishWipe or Eagle Edgeless but it is what it is. Gonna give it a try with straight Gyeon Cure as that`s the streakiest booster I`ve used and see how that turns out.

Interesting.

Detailed a neighbor`s 2017 chevy malibu. one step with car pro essence and a lsp of megs ult fast finish. pollen season is here and this is going to be one of the worst for florida. several hard freezes caused pollen releases to delay and occur all at one time.
once microfibers are contacted with the pollen sprigs, time to toss them and drag out the old faithful pop up.

It`s going to rain tomorrow I skipped barrels, wells and tires at least for now. Might get them later. 50% rain chance when I have to leave tomorrow to drive 100 miles.

I may end up putting high gloss on the upper panels that won`t get nasty if it rains tomorrow.

I didn’t even know that kids still skipped barrels these days. :)
I caved in and did the wheel barrels and fender wells. And engine bay, trim and tires. At least its proper in case it doesn`t rain.

It only too about 45 minutes. Might not be perfect but at least not as terrible as it looked.

This winter has not been kind to the vehicles! It stopped raining so I figure I`d do a quick wash!
