What clay and lube do people use

Washed, rinsed, but not drying the car. Used Megs clay + QD package as they were on sale from a local place. Only clayed my car a few times or about twice a year max. No problem so far except dropping the clay once. However, for my use, I always use only half a bar at a time so that I almost always have a spare. Once you're happy with the panel you worked on, I find it easier to QD and wipe off the clay residue with a terry towel right away before anything dried up. (Hope the remaining half-piece I had hasn't dried up completely yet as it's about time for another clay and re-polish)

I have used TOL's clay bar in the past but recently purchased a few Wolfgang bars just to try something new. They are very sticky and last forever, I od like both better than the Clay Magic I used prior to the TOL. As for lube any QD I can find cheap, lately its been Megs QD or Black Magic QD, no advantage in using S&W or something good like Crystal Mist if you are going to polish it off.

My favourite clay was the grey Autopia clay that was in the store a while back, but has now been replaced by the yellow clay (which I haven't used yet, although I have 4 bars). The grey clay was really nice and sticky and firm... just how I like my clay.

I'm currently using Claymagic blue which is also a very nice clay IMO.

I was quite disappointed with the Clearkote blue clay - far too soft for my liking and fell apart too easily.

I also use a shampoo mix in a spray bottle as my lube.

MOTHERS CLAY BAR KIT, use shampoo and water for lube, use SHOWTIME to clean the mild mess, then use the cleaner wax to finish off,:bow

I still have a chunk of the Griot's bar left. It's been pretty good, and the price is comparable to others (for the total size of the bar). For the lube, I use water during a wash or Mother's. I want to try the Claymagic 'kit' though and maybe one of the Meg's bars soon.

I like Clay Magic blue and Mother's. For lube, my preferred method is to wash, rinse and then soap up again. I use the suds to lube. I apply the wash again then rinse after the clay.

I've never tried MOTHERS' blue bar though, I always use the gold standard bar, I guess I should order and test it. Has anyone ever tried the blue bar of MOTHERS' yet? any feedback?

I wasn't aware that Mothers sold a blue bar. This is the first I'm hearing of it.

I'm a ClayMagic fan myself. It's by the far the best $9.95 you can spend on detailing supplies. The lube that comes with it is passable, but I clay at the same time I was the car, so I just use the soap suds (Meguiar's Gold Class Wash) as lube.

Yup, they got them blue ones, the more aggressive version. Just wasn't sure how aggresive they are? I guess I need to order me some and try it.

Where did you see them? I looked on Mothers web site and they only have the yellow bars. Never heard of the blue Mothers Clay Bar.

Well I sent a PM to Forrest and asked about these blue bars. He said that they were sold in the Mothers Pro line and are comparable to the red Clay Magic Bars. They are not available anymore.

I use the blue Clay Magic bar and the Clay Magic Lube. Once that runs out I use a mix of Gold Class Shampoo and water.

You might want to check out www.waxstation.com, maybe they have it there or if you want to send me a pm with your email address, will send you an email of the Pro Series brochure.:)
