Hey, that sounds like a very good reason not to like Pete's 53. Thanks for sharing. I have not had the problems with 53 as you have. Do a spit shine with 53 and use a QD like FK425, Quickshine, or a QD that leaves some kind of gloss. Lightly moisten and mean lightly and lightly moisten car a panel at a time you are working on. Then apply the 53. This should help the problems you are having. ZOOM-ZOOM <><
QUOTE=01bluecls]Sorry with a late reply... I have used CG'S 53 on 4 different cars, my car which is medium blue, a flat black, a silver, and a dark metallic green. The look was pretty "clear" to me but IMO it lacked depth and wetness that Souveran provides. Also, I havent had this happen in a loooooong time, is that im pretty sure I buffed off the wax, but a few days later 1 inch wax residue built up reappeared in certain areas that Im VERY sure I buffed off. I have never had this with other waxes. This was a problem back in the day with some other products such as SG and a few others that had "magically" re-appearing dried residue. For some reason the look the wax gives didnt provide that WOW factor even after properly prepped paint. Also the beading charateristics seem to drop off just after a week of decent amount of rain and pollen. Souveran has better beading IMO initially for the first 1-2 weeks.
I had very high expectations of this wax especially for the price and its listed content of ingredients. So far its been dissapointing to me. This of course if simply my opinion. I will probably give the wax a few more tries before selling the rest to someone who likes the wax.[/QUOTE]
