I'm surprised we haven't narrowed all the choices (for any brand) of carts etc to one or two types. We do such a good job of finding the best values and sharing it with others.

BTW in a related tip, for newbies and others the the $17 hanging shop vac is perfect for regular duty car vacuuming (1.5hp 1 gal wet/dry shopvac) at Lowes (lowes.com delivers now).

I found a nice cart at Sam's Club for $50. It is made by Saville Classic, Savilleclassics.com , and is called a commercial utility cart. They also had a larger one at Sam's and the website has a number of sizes. It seems like a good price the only draw back is that it is chromed steel rather than stainless. So we'll see if it starts to rust any time soon.

Since I have to occasionally work on SUV's and vans, I needed a good way to get up high. I looked around, and found a nice Griot's step-ledge thing but oh, the price!

A day or two later I went to Lowes and picked up a really great Cosco step ladder. It is perfect, and was about $35. Even has a little shelf that can hold two bottles (QD fits perfectly there) and it has very wide steps. It also is nearly verticle on the vehicle side, so you can get really close without touching. Highly recommended, even if you don't use it for detailing.

This can be about detailing, jobs, finances, life, whatever!

For me it will be:

  • Detailing More Classic Cars
  • Getting my Retirement "Routine" down
  • More Corvette Road Trips this summer
  • Helping some people who need the help
  • Spend more quality time with my 4 sons:biggrin:

What's are your goals?

Maintain my weight.
Keep my cholesterol at 100.
Wash my cars weekly.
Detail my cars monthly.
Continue to spend precious time with my grandchildren.

Stay away from the stock market, no matter what the pundits say.

Continue to enjoy my job as maintenance director of a large commercial
property.

Find a job that actually pays me what I am worth.
Try to start up a part time detailing business.
Earn enough money to send my oldest son to sleepaway camp.

Bill,
Great question, Thanks again for your contribution. While there is much I want to accomplish, I believe my "list" would look something like this.

1) Work on my relationships with the people in my life. (Keeping a good relationship with your loved ones and friends takes work to be successful.)

2) Complete the business plan I have put together for www.properautocare.com (We have ambitious plans for our sites and business offerings in 2010, stay tuned.)

3) Triple the membership of TID, while maintaining the quality of people we currently have, (Growing this community while keeping it as friendly and open might be the toughest one, but we will do it with the help of all of the members of TID).

I am very excited at what this year has to offer.
