Just wanted to know what everybody thinks the best wax and sealants are to use on a black car.

Thanks!

try doing a search. you'll find lots of info. I have a black truck that Im gonna be working on. My persription is :

wash and clay
Megs DACP
megs 80
megs nxt x2

or poorboys

It really depends on what your paint is like and if youre using a PC or going at in by hand. Fom what I have heard a synthetic wax gives more a wet gloss to a dark finish and carnuba gives a shiny finish which is great on light cars.

I like what CarDesign had to say and would top NXT with #16. Get some while you can. This adds to the durability of NXT greatly.

If you dont want to go crazy and get Souveran I would definately recommend VM + CMW, looks great on black, versatile, and simple to use.

I've had good luck so far with MEG Showcar Glaze, and S100... I haven't put any sealant on my car... yet :)

IMO pretty much any sealant or wax will look incredible on black if it's been properly preped. After all the prep work is done, I like EX-P and CMW.

keep it simple - VM or AIO as your base, Souveran as a topper - but its not as long lasting as some combos*

if you are chasing more longevity, then Klasse twins and S100/P21S*

*please note that this is assuming that you have performed some kind of paint preperation in the form of polishing etc. Unless you do that, nothing will look that spectacular........

Okay, I realize I'm about to get "sniffing Zaino fumes again" comments but why not keep it really, really simple. With the caveat that you've prepared the paint well.

wash
Z2 pro

Just my opinion.

And the darkhorse that not many talk about: Trade Secret Carnauba. Actually, AIO,UPP, Trade secret, TOL Black Wax.

im sure that was a typo. CARNUBAS for DARK and SEALANTS/ACRYLICS/ECTS for LIGHT

steve from poorboys and some other experienced detailers have told me that synthetics are better for darks and carnuba for light cars.

Seems like Zaino doesn't get alot of love over here... their line is one of the ones I'm considering buying from.

I just polished by Black passat and used
ssr2.5 pc orange pad
vm white pad
ex-p black pad
s100(only on the hood) by hand

looks like the paint is dripping off!

there's no doubt taht Zaino is a good product, but there are better ones that require less steps to achive same/better results.

Yeah... that's kinda what I've gathered. I've just heard too much about Zaino from all the guys at a BMW forum I used to frequent... brainwashed I tell ya!

BTW, S100 on black is pretty friggin awesome (prepped properly of course) :)

how can that be? from the time i joined this forum till this day to the replys everyone is giving its obvious carnubas are for dark paints and synthetics for light. for the fact that carnubas give depth and gloss which compliments dark colors while synthetics reflect and magnify light colored colors that cant get the results of dark colored cars. can someone back me up here.
