I have been reading that different products give different looks and I don't know exactly what each look is. could someone post pics of cars with the wet look and also the clear reflective look.

thanks.

Go to detailcity.com and look under my name III. I started a post calles wet/glossy vs clear/reflective. This should help you out.

Psssst, I have a secret for you. I have found a way to have your cake and eat it too. Here it is.

Prep the surface

Apply VM by hand or PC

Apply one or more layers of EX-P

Wet, reflective, and clear.

VM has a very very wet look to it, however in my experience I find it doesnt produce great reflections, then again being a glaze primarily thats not its job either. EX-P is very clear, and super reflective. I find EX-P a defenite contender to Zaino in terms of clear, reflective. The benefit of EX-P is it bonds well to most anything, and still is a sealant by design with great durability. Now I wouldnt say it can compete with Zaino in durability, but 4-6 months should be no sweat from what I have seen on my own car so far. EX-P is unique to me in that its ability to bond to most anything, coupled with its very clear, reflective look makes it almost a PERFECT match for topping VM. It gives a clear and very reflective look, yet it takes on the properties of VM due to its clarity and provides a very wet looking shine. This is my favorite combo, it would take alot to steer me from this combo. I give credit for this to Scottwax, been thanking him ever since recommending this. It gives me everything I want with nearly no tradeoffs :bow

Agree with breakneckvtec. Nice combo and easy to work with. An added bonus is that both products can be applied directly in sunlight.

There are a lot of things that just don't translate very well after you take a picture of it. The real thing always looks better than the picture. I don't think you will really be able to see the real difference between those just from pictures.

Who was it that took a bunch of digital photos of a dirty truck, just to show that digital photos and crt terminals don't have enough detail to be really useful?

Tom

Sounds like something geekysteve would do. I've actually seen a couple threads where someone posted something like that to prove that angle was everything in the photograph. The car can look great from one side and nasty from the other. Its all in the lighting and the angle.
