Weekend full of details 56K NEED NOT APPLY

EBPcivicsi

GOT PREP?
I had a fairly busy weekend. The temps were near 100 and the humidity was around 40%, I was dragging by the end.

First up, I had two vehicles at the same location. An elderly gentleman who needed his cars cleaned up, he wanted one-steps. This guy was as cool as a fan, 80 years young, HEAVY smoker (but he never inhales :p ), very hospitable. He had a cooler full of ice with water, a 2L of coke, and a golf towel ready for me when I arrived. He even fed me a BBQ sandwich for lunch. I really dig old cats like this who tell it like it is, anyways…..

I started with his wife’s car, it was in fair shape.

Final process was:

Wash with EO car wash (pro line)

Clay

#66 via PC with S.M. Arnold green [ad

Glass cleaned with NXT GC

Wheels cleaned with acid based wheel cleane rcut 50/50 with water

Engine, tires, and wheel wells degreased with EO All purpose degreaser cut 5:1

Engine dressed with EO water based dressing cut 50/50 with water.

Tires dressed with No Touch seriously wet

Interior:

Costco APC on everything (10:1)

Floor mats pressure washed, then extracted with LGCM

Dakota “non-smoke aerosol to remove the smoke odor.

Next up was his car, it was not so well taken care of. This sucker had ashes and coffee stain everywhere. The paint was dull and felt like sand paper after a wash. :nervous2:

Sorry for the lack of full sun shots, we had a hazy or cloudy sky all weekend long. It threatened to rain each day, but I remained dry. :xyxthumbs

Those are some great results. :2thumbs: Pressure washing the mats seems like a real time saver but it gets the job done better than shampooing and then extracting. I should try that out. How long did each one take you? That Buick looks like something I'd have to spend 8 hours on. Awesome job!

Thanks guys!!

AutoNova, I just eyeball it. :nixweiss

Porkandbeans, yeah I spray the APC into the mats, scrub with brush, allow to sit for a few minutes, then PW, then extract. I arrived on location around 9:00 a.m.., we talked for about 30 minutes (you know how old cats are), I took about 30 minutes for lunch, and was headed to the house at about 5:30. So I guess about 6.5 hours for both vehicles. I could have completed them faster, but I was taking frequent breaks(wipe face, drink water, etc), as well as talking to the guy. The WS6 took about 4.5 hours.

Ha Ha! I now have broadband and can look at this thread! :D

Outstanding work! Smoker's interiors can be tough but you really did a nice job! I also like the work on the door jams too, very nice touch! Paint looks terrific too.

I agree! Great work! What wheel acid did you use? Anyone that would leave butts in their car like that must have only been using a gas station car wash! I'm sure those wheels were really nasty before you started (especially the insides).

Woah, Scott has broadband now!!! :woot: Yeah, smoker's interiors are always trashed, I don't see how they drive around like that.

Volunteer1816, I buy it locally from a delaer supply house, it is about $10 a gallon.

Thanks!!! To everone for the kind words. I am glad to be back at work in the AC. :)

My hats off to you guys who do this day in day out throughout the year. I can't imagine.

Looks awesome man! What did you use on the carpet? I love the detail you put into making the vacuum lines straight. You have a big steam vac or something?

:faint: Bulletin: Scott enters the modern age!! :woohoo: I think all those "56K NEED NOT APPLY" friendly warnings were for you! How happy are YOU?!

Joe, cars look AWESOME :bigups Sounds like that extractor you got for Christmas is really working out well.

What do you dress the interior with? I see you use the APC. I assume that's to clean everything. But what do you dress with, if anything?

Also, is the Costco APC that bright green Kirkland stuff I see all the time? Seems like you and Sean really like it. I may have to pick up a jug when my Castrol APC runs out.

I see you do a lot of engine degreasing in your driveway. How is the driveway? Is it stained at all. If so, what do you use to clean it up with?

:)
