im looking for some durability that will last me through the harsh MI winters. not looking to spend much more than $25 per wax (no souveran etc). i was thinking nattys blue paste with either ex or ex-p i forget which went better with black. is this a good combo or is it just a 'good looking' combo? any other ideas? thanks guys

This winter I'm using Collonite 845. It's ~$12 for a bottle and if you like the look of a carnauba wax this is the one for you! A lot of talk around this wax is about it's durability, but IMO this is a great looking wax as well.

I have also heard alot about Collinite. I am gonna pick up some of that soon. Currently I have PB EX-P x2 topped with S100. Gonna see how long it makes it.

I would support the Collinite 845 idea, I used it last winter and it worked exceedingly well. I was so impressed I picked up a can of the Collinite 476 and will be applying it as soon as the rain stops locally. And yes, the ark is nearing completion and I've decided Shania Twain and Michelle Pfeiffer will be the first pair aboard. Those two would bring sunshine to a cloudy day.

I would suggest something other than S100 .. I get poor durability from it.

I agree the other suggestions already given ... IW845, #16, etc., extended with a spray product like AW or OCW.

After my S100 is gone i will be topping with CG's 5050 or Collinite. I just want to use up what I have and I dont mind S100 it goes on and off easy for me.

If you must have wax, then 845 is probably your best bet, especially since #16 is now a collectors item..

You'll have more durability options with sealants

The most durable wax or and sealants are, Zaino, Klasse, Duragloss #105, and Collinite #476 and #845. Follow with Duragloss AW once or twice a month ,and you should be good to go.

go with a great looking sealant straight up for protection. For looks and durability, pick up Duragloss 105 and apply it on top of the bonding agent. Top with Aquawax after every other wash. My camry looked great for 5 months wearing DG 105. Try it out, you wont be dissapointed.

Although it isn't a wax, but a sealant, I would recommend Zaino Z5pro. You would also probably want the Zfx kit so you can lay down up to 3 coats a day. The z8 spray sealant is the icing on the cake. I recommend this to you because it has amazing durability and is what I am going with this winter, and all year round.

I applied two coats of Natty Blue a few weeks ago and topped it with AW. So far, it has been working well with all these rain lately, my car is still beading.

I've got EX-P topped with two coats of 845. After about 5 weeks it still beads like the day I put it on.

I am going with CG 5050, supposed to be durable. So far I have two coats and over a month. I will also be trying one of the Victoria waxes (The least expensive one which is their most durable, cant recall the name). And I will be using either CG Blitz or DG Aquawax on a monthly basis.

I BELIEVE the best thing for winter is a good polymer sealant topped with a durable wax.

I'm using the Klasse twins right now AIO/KSG x3, topped with Collinite 476S. I will be washing with Optimum No Rinse (sometimes at the coin-op) and as temperatures may allow, will use Duragloss Aquawax for a bit extra protection and pop.

(gonna try real hard on this one to maintain showroom shine).

I am on my winter programme of Klasse AIO, 3 layers of Klasse Sealant Glaze and a coat of Collinite 845.

Seems to have come up well to me...
