wax test

Fwiw. In a big wax test at the beginning of the year in (England) Collinite 915 outlasted both 845, and 476.. 915 was still protecting after 6 1/2 months, in what the tester called one of the coldest and longest periods of weather since 1986.

Well, generally waxes perform better in the cold than they do in heat and summer sun. I always got better durability out of 845 in colder weather.

With the exception of the Duragloss 111 and 845, I'd say most everything else is for all practical purposes pretty much dead.

i was thinking the same thing, that everything else was dead on the roof.. 3m performance finish is still going pretty strong on the hood though. liquid glass is still trying too, but i have a feeling when i update next time it will be gone. ive been washing the car every week or 2, but im still kinda dissapointed with some things, 476 and klasse suprized me.

Dam Klasse did disappoint. 3M makes some pretty good stuff, never really paid much attention to their Performance Finish, guess thatl hav to change...

i need to experiment around with the 3m performance finish's cleaning ability... its deffintaley got some.. ive noticed especially on white cars, the little grey scratches/scuffs they seem to get come right off with this, so do some fingernail marks in door handles, again on white especially..guess ill never try layering the stuff, ha.. ill try it by machine on a buddies car sometime and see what i can accomplish with different pads and speeds etc. suprized me the first time i removed any marring with it. i had it go about 8 months on a customers car once. it was never washed, and was kept in a garage from time to time..

Liquid Glass is such a sleeper, its one of my favorites. If Zaino didnt have the edge with the rest of the "system" I would use LG more.

Buy some 3M cleaner wax as a base for the 3M Performance Finish.

BTW: good job on the test and have a great Semester ar school!

okay. time for a final update for this test... 111 , surf city shine on, liquid glass, and 3m performance finish are still going. 3m is the only one i still think looks okay. everything else. i consider done. .. this all means nothing without pictures to prove it though. so here goes the dial-up on my fossil of a computer downloading some pics from my camera. enjoy :-)

heres the 3m, which is doing the best by far ^^^^

^^^^^ thats liquid glass

^^^^thats the roof... all that is left beading in the roof is SOME of the 111, and surf city shine on where both sealant and glaze were used.... no poorboys, collonite, or klasse to speak of... ..

^^^^^6 theres another shot of the roof.

i must say, a few things really suprized me.. ive always liked the 3m for its durability, but didnt think it would outlast 476 or klasse in a billion years... i didnt expect 845 to outlast 476 either... i knew mothers carnuba wouldnt do well, and it was the first to go on the hood... for the first month or 2 i washed every week with a slightly strong mix wash... then it got washed maye every other week up until i left for my vacation in california which was great by the way.. so until today it hadnt been washed in 3 weeks. so i think im calling it quits with this test.. hope i didnt dissapoint anybody with my lack of updates..

by the way. we are selling the car soon.. so im debating weather or not to start a test... i could always do them on my dads truck, or moms subaru(but thats silver, so beading pics might be an issue.. id like to do a test on layering.. and a few more products... i want to try layering klasse, and a carnuba, and see if additional coats do yeild a longer durability, or not.. but idk.. im going to start that trim test very soon, and hope its over before we sell the car.. im starting to prattle, so ill stop. thanks for reading!!! hope it helped
