I just had a LONG conversation about this with a guy here in KC that does clear bra installs and has one of the top shops around and here is what he told me to use. I haven't used it yet, but I plan on doing so when spring rolls around. He said to clean it first with Meguiars Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner and to follow up with Meguiars Clear Plastic Polish. He said he'd cleaned up one that was almost totally yellow and it had never been waxed since the install and made it look like new. He also had a product, that I picked up while I was there, made by XPEL that is specifically for cleaning/polishing the material, but I can't seem to find it online and it's at home, so I can't get the name for you.
Good luck, but he was very adamant about how well the Meguiars stuff would work on it.
One product I just came across that sounds similar to the stuff I bought is Adam's Clear Polish & Protection.
Again, good luck, I'll be interested in what you find that works!
Hey Husker,
Thanks for the response. That sounds promising. Did he mention weather or not to do it by hand, or is it safe enough to use a DA?
Premier Protective Films - PF1 TT is an advanced agent that attacks the marks and transfers at the micro-level to loosen up these particles so that it may be safely wiped off with a clean microfiber towel. Most importantly, it can be utilized on paint protection film with a clear coat safely. Simply clean the area in which it will be applied. Next spray on and in five seconds; begin wiping with a clean micro fibre towel. Repeat these steps as needed.
