WARNING! Don't use these Autogeek WWs on paint!

Stopped using waffle weave towels years ago. The lack of nap really bugs me and I don't find them to be particularly soft either.

The 1st time I used a WW I found them to be horrid. Went with the metro vac and going to pick up a cheap leaf blower.

Thanks for the report BTW Alfisti, think I'm going to switch to Pak pretty soon for all my towel needs.

I've never had issues with WW over the many years I've used them - even on black. This is the first time and it's not a nap issue. It's the harshness of the fibres themselves. Like you get from cheap polishing MF regardless of nap length.

What do you dry with after ONR?

Here's a pic of the marring that I sent to AG. Sorry for the poor quality - I used my phone camera. It's actually worse than that.

We are trying a 20 x 40 soft and thicker ww towel and it's not blue! :)

Edges will not be stitched as well- or at least, not like a normal stitched edge.

Samples are being produced so still 8-12 weeks away from production and delivery.

That said, when we use POLYS or ONR, we use mf towels the entire time and rarely need ww towels.

That sounds impressive. It's hard to find a thick WW. That's why I'm trying the Mothers WW.

What's POLYS? So you use regular MF towels to dry?

thanks for letting us know your experience with these, can't say i've been too impressed with their mf's as well... :down

I have two of the green Guzzler WWs (with the silk edging). They passed the CD test and Ive noticed no marring induced from them when used to dry off my car. Granted I use them for smaller areas (mirrors, below the body line, etc) and use a large plush MF from PakShak for most of the drying, but the Guzzlers from AG seem to work just fine.

Note I washed them twice with a double rinse each time before first use, and I always "prime" them (soak them with the hose and wring out) before they touch the car.

The ones I'm warning about aren't the Guzzlers. Click the link in my opening post and you'll see they're a *cheaper* blue WW. I only bought them because they were on BOGO special and I've never had a WW marr my paint before.

When I receive my new Mothers WWs I'll do a review.

Also, I just received this WW I bought off eBay: eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d (the blanket suggestion is a bit stupid).

WASH TOWEL.jpg

With free international shipping and it's massive size (59 x 24 inches) it seems pretty good value. It's thicker than my Pakshak Micropaks, making it the thickest non-foamcore WWs I own, so I'm hopeful.

I'll review these as well.

I haven't had any real issues with my AG MF's but The WW sucks for drying just does not hold much water, Mothers Drying WW holds ALLOT more but is a little on the thick side IMO.

First post! Welcome to Autopia.

I just received six Mothers WWs today and have washed them and currently drying on the line. Yes, they're very thick...about 2-3 times thicker than AG Guzzler HD which also has a foam core (and I own one). Looks like I'll have to change my technique to use them.

My initial impressions of Mothers WW: very, very soft. Both the MF used and the soft sponginess of the foam core. I shall report back when I use them.

I have a Mother's foam core and it works really well. I like to pat dry with it, no need to move the towel against the paint.

I used to use my ww's that way. I'd lay down a 25 x 36 towel, pat, and lift. Worked very well.

A new sample has been sent to one of you to try and we'll see what the results are. If not great, then I will not produce the towel. No worries. Hope to have some results from the "tester" in a week or so.

Thanks for the welcome :hand:

To be honest when I got my WW from AG I was disappointed how quick it filled up and that it cost me the same as the Mothers WW.. I want to try the Uber Super Drying Microfiber Towel from detailers domain..

What is the best way to wash new towels? I just took delivery of quite a few Mequiars X 2020 towels and planned to wash them in cold with Woolite He a couple of times.

Is this a good idea? Any suggestions?

I always read to use free and clear liquid detergent on gentle cycle with cold water and no fabric softener. Dry with low or no heat (I do no heat and then hang them out afterwards) and not use dryer sheets.
