vroom microfiber towels - less plush?

I'm gonna jump on bashing the meg's MF's...i bought two and gave one to my dad(no wonder he doesn't use it) The one I use, after i've washed it and hung to dry it feels rather rough and not so plush anymore...Maybe that's why i have SWIRLS! D'OH! :o :bat

The Megs Towels seem to get stiff after a few washings..they loose the plushness...after about 10 washings they feel very course...

Another good towel to look at is the CG towels.....they have some very nice towels and very good prices....some are Identical to the Cobras I have

Personally, I'd rather have just 1 Viking or Mother's towels than 3 of the Meg's Supreme Shine. The quality of the Supreme Shine just don't compare to the Viking, Mother's, or any boutique brand towel. There's a reason why a 3 pack of them runs for less than $10.

I don't go to Target too often, but so far I haven't really seen any of the Vroom towels that are in the same league as the Viking towels or the boutique towels.

agreed, the viking mf's are top notch! :up

Yes, the gray ones are nicer, I was able to snag a few two-packs last fall on clearance for $0.99 ea!

Wow ..thats a great deal....I would of bought them all at that price....they are a nice towel..and after a few washes they seem better...I may check this fall when they clear out the detailing stuff and see if I can get a deal like that....

Al, I find that Target really varies from store to store with what they have and what they put on sale; I guess this particular manager wanted to get rid of the gray ones, the cardboard on them was a bit wrinkled IIRC.

Is there really that much difference between a 70-30 and 80-20 from a good source, not an otc? Some sites don't even say what the percentages are.

Hey all,

My wife picked up another couple of 8 packs of the orange 16"x16" Vroom microfiber towels from Target for my birthday yesterday.

Is it just me or have they gotten less plush? Compared side by side with some I picked up even just 6-8 months ago, the new ones don't seem as thick.

Anyone else confirm this or am I imagining things?

You are correct, I hardly have much use for them, they have no nap...

What we have my friend are microfiber shop rags, because I really don't see me wiping off PS with those pos*.

Quite right. That's what I was concerned with when I compared them to the older Vroom orange towels I have. Not enough nap to effectively remove polish, sealant or wax residue.

Like many, I find the orange towels to be great for door jambs and such, while the 2-pack gray ones and the large yellow ones are great towels for the price and get used on my paint all the time. If I could get the gray 2-packs for $0.99 on clearance, I'd hug and kiss the nearest Target employee.....

Yup, with the orange Vrooms, I've noticed this same thing.

As others have said, the grey ones are much more plush.

synchronicity...

I ran to Target last night to find some MF's to try out my recently purchased Werkstatt products... the orange towels were very low quality but the gray ones were very plush and seemed to be well made so I picked up a four pack. Used them last night and I was impressed, very nice. BTW, I do have PakShak towels to compare them too.

I have the orange ones and they're "OK" for a free detail you're doing, but usually I reserve them for door jambs, wheels, windows, etc.

Personally I really like the Orange Vroom towels. I find them to be pretty plush for an OTC towel. I really like the nap on them and find that they work great in removing polishes etc. I save my better MF's for qd'ing and wax removal.

I picked up some orange towels this week since they were on sale just to see how good they are compared to the gray ones I have. They are not as plush but need to give them a try. They have a shorter nap so I assume they should be decent for cleaning glass. I liked the gray ones. You can never have enough towels.....

Anyone have a pic of these Vroom towels? Every time I've been to Target and looked, I've never really seen anything that's comparable to the boutique mf towels. They all seem about the same quality as the generic mf towels from the wholesale clubs.
