That is also a great idea cooking for her.

I bought my wife a small snow shovel so she wouldnt have to lift a heavy shovel full of snow when she shoveled out my van in the morning. I didnt want her to hurt her back. (lol)

LOL!

Thanks for all the great post! :yay I'm all done! Here's my process, tell me what you think.
Process:
Balloon(one of those love ones)
Box of chocolate
Plant
Card
CD (made it;all of the love songs that remind me of her) I know chezze!
Dinner (which I will be cooking; Steak and Crab Legs)

I'm hoping that if I follow this process I will remain scratch free! Ha-ha

$63 for some Columbian Red Roses arranged in a glass vase (which was probably made in Singapore or China with child labor). Gheesh, should have given her an American-grown potted plant, taken her out for some adequate made-in-America 'fine dinning' and applied the rest towards some made-in-America PB SSR.

(OK, truth be known I don't give a rip where the roses came, nor the cost, as it saves me from the dog house)

Besides the Lobster & Salad (which was a big hit), I made a CD of some clips of sappy love songs (Oh Donna, Beth, Sarah, Carrie, Hey Jude), and me and a friend went to a recording studio and everytime the singer says "Beth" or "Sarah" or whatever I put my wife's name in, "Kerry." I didn't sing it, in fact I did it as monotone as possible.

And Friday I was give a speech at a Valentines Dinner (I followed the comedian-tough gig), I did the talk ("A Brief History of Romance") and at the end I played the CD clips. It got a good laugh, which is what it was for, but then I read part of a Bruce Cockburn* song to her, which got the "ahhhhh". Great power you have with a mic.

I completely threw the woman for a loop last night. I made some chocolate covered strawberries. She thought I bought them. I'm a damn good cook and yet she actually thought I bought them! They were dipped in milk chocolate with white chocolate drizzled on top.

All week, she's been craving chocolate and she mentioned several times that she loved chocolate covered strawberries. I watched both Rachael Ray and Alton Brown melt chocolate on Monday, so I knew how to do that. Apparently, I did them well enough that they looked professionally done.

The rest of the dinner:

Fresh baked Focaccia with dipping oil
Fresh mixed greens with warm vinagrette dressing
Four Peppercorn Filet Mignon with Dijon Horseradish sauce
Steamed broccoli

Yeah...I'm that good. :stick

I've been with my girlfriend now about a month and a half, I was friends with her before that for 7-8 months so we knew a lot about each other already. I started on Sunday by taking her out to dinner at a local (really nice) seafood restaurant (she loves seafood). I spent way too much money but it was worth it. Then, on Monday she checked her mail and found that she had a package, it contained 30 tulips (of assorted Vday colors) and a glass vase to put them in. I spent way too much on that also but, once again, it was worth it. Then, on Valentine's day I showed up at her dorm room unannounced as she was just waking up (she seemed a bit embarrased at her appearance but frankly I don't care, she's wonderful no matter what her hair looks like). I had a box of chocolates for her. At this point all of her suite-mates (there's 4 quads connected as a suite in this particular dorm setup) were starting to get jealous as none of them had seen their boyfriends, nor had they gotten anything yet. Later that day she got another package in the mail containing two dozen roses (red, of course) and a doll of a cute puppy in a tuxedo (she loves puppies, every girl does really). She was very happy. At this point the rest of her dorm was vocally jealous, along with her happiness this was my goal.

Yep, I bet there are some guys in trouble over that. Looks like a very good thought out plan and I'm sure she was very happy. From looking at all the post I bet everyone turned out good. :beer_smil
