UV protection wax for plastics?

I'm having a problem with my aftermarket clear front turn signal lamps. Since they are not OEM, the quality of the plastic is not so good, causing them to yellow because of sun exposure within 6 months of installing them. I have tried wet sanding them on the outside and cleaning them on the inside, and I am convinced that it isn't something that can be removed, but rather the plastic itself that is yellowing.

I'm already on my second set, and I don't want to keep buying new ones every 6 months. Is there any kind of polish or wax that prevents the sun from damaging plastics? Any help would be appreciated.

I would apply a high quality polymer sealant to them. Something like Klasse or Zaino will give you plenty of UV protection, and last at least 4 months between applications.

Nice to see you over here, I'm also a member of ExplorerForum :wavey

Klasse, Zaino, Blackfire, Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection, Formula 2001, Liquid Glass and many more. Do a search on those, tons of info in the forum.

I'm afraid Plexus and 303 wouldn't last long at all, especially in the rain.

Plexus if applied correctly is very durable ( within reason ) If you use it everytime you do an exterior detail you will have not problems.

I always apply Plexus each time I wash my car. Here is the email I received from Blake Schwartzman at Plexus customer service:

Plexus will last through water and rain, however, use Plexus when you wash your car it is easy and will keep all your plastic looking new.

Funny, DisneyWorld uses 303 on it's boats on Typhoon lagoon, so I can say it will work in water.

You can find out more from the website: 303 main page

There you will find out all there is to know on 303!
