Used ONR for the first time.

Gotta say its a nice product. I was alittle apprehensive going into this as Ive been a hose&bucket guy since I was a tot.

My Jeep wasnt dirty at all. I washed it around a week ago and Ive not driven it since. It did have water spots and ash all over it. Neighbors have been burning dead trees and such for the past week.

Since ash is fairly abrasive, I went ahead and sprayed the entire Jeep off with filtered water from the hose. Whenever I do use ONR, Ill probably do this anyway as it can only help. I also washed the tires with Bleche white with the water hose. Fender wells were still clean and I washed the rims last with ONR.

I did use the 2 bucket method but it wasnt really needed. I only needed to rinse my mitt off once or twice when I did the roof and the hood as they were still covered in ash even though I sprayed it off.

One thing that kinda upset me, I just got 3 California Drying Towels from ADS and they wouldnt glide at all when i dried the ONR. They just stuck to the paint. I grabbed some old Megs WW's and they did just fine so idk what was going on. Once the paint was dry the Cali towels glided over the paint just fine. I waxed the paint on Dec 20th with NXTv2 so its still nice and slick. My brother washed his Jeep the day before using the traditional bucket+hose and he said the cali towels worked great.

I used a 1/4 cup for 4 gallons of water per the ONR container. Thats 1oz per 2gallons of water.

Paint looked great afterwards as I expected.

Overall thoughts-I like it. I would not use it if my Jeep was actually dirty and I couldnt at the minimum spray it off at the coin-op or at home first. It seemed to make the water sheet which was nice since it was sunny out. Didn't let it spot at all if I couldnt dry a section in time.

It did save tons of water and some time. Im sure I could wash it alot faster with ONR over the hose but this was my first time so it took longer.

wierd i think we have the same measuring cups

let me go take a pic

edit i found the cup yes it is the same, but i cant find my camera.

I can't wait to get my ONR, it should be here any day now.

Hey at least you can ONR outdoors where you are at. I'm going to have to find a heated garage b/c it's not supposed to get above 25*F here for at least a week.

ONR is really one of my favorite products. You would be surprised how dirty it can be and is still safe to use ONR. Off-roading mud would be an exception, you will need to hose that.

I've used ONR a lot as a QD; just spray the car with the QD-strength mixture and wipe with a MF towel. I don't even wash my car anymore since doing that once a week seem to keep my cars clean and shiny. Having 6 cars in my fleet, ONR is a must-have.

I wouldn't know what to do with that many cars!

haha, I know it will safely remove dirt from a dirtier vehicle but this was my first time. I just wanted to get the feel of it and how it all worked.

I couldnt imagine cleaning that many vehicles either. Just cleaning my parents two Jeeps and my Jeep is enough for me!

I had road grime and salt all over my passat, and ONR did a great job with it. I washed it in 25 degree weather outside...used nice warm water and some rubber gloves. Worked great!

the lowes bucket! i just picked up one of those not too long ago :)

Haha, I really like that bucket! I wanted one with a lid so I could fill it up with warm water in my dorms shower then take it to the coin-op. It worked great! :woot2:

Got the filter system from pwgazette.com/gardenhosefilters.htm for only $100. Seems to do a great job reducing spotting and one of the filters are renewable.
