UPDATE!! Current Dual Action Polisher Comparison - Garry Dean - Tampa, FL

Garry Dean said:
You should buy a polisher and let us know what you think.

Maybe you should watch both videos again so that you realize that my opinion on the polisher did not change at all from the first impression to the update.

Yes, the sound is louder and different... Who cares... Everyone is an internet wiseguy...

I wouldnt buy one just to do a comparison. I just thought it was funny how your second review seem to emphasize how strong and how much torque the machine now has. considering 3d is selling your product, how would it be possible for you to do and unbiased review? It would be downright stupid for you to say something negative about a polisher made by a company that sells your product, a product that just so happens to be used with a polisher. Its nothing personal against you. Its just a fact. People just want to be followers of the Pros on the particular forum they are on. Manufactures realize this and see how gullable people are. They now that it only takes one or two people to praise a product and everyone else will follow. Its just smart business and marketing. Its easy and brilliant. I just try to help people who are not smart enough to understand it. Why do most people have so many redundant products.

So we're all in one big detailing conspiracy AND we're stupid. Thanks for clearing that up. Tell us again why you're on this particular forum?

What, you mean this isn't LyingHackTopia.org? Damn, I'm on the wrong site... :lol

Yup, this is an entire forum of liars. I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out. I must be stupid. :ohwell:

On another note, Garry's review will go viral within the next 5 minutes. So this thread has that going for it. Which is nice.

Ok so this thread is getting interesting. Autopia.org is owned by 3D. I know that and so does everyone else. Yet we all can come here and talk about any product at any given time. I will use myself as as an example. Here some off the forum stuff! I'll let the cat out. First off, Since 3D has bought autopia.org. I first hand have gained a great friend from it. This guy is Tunch Goren the owner of 3D.

Tunch is a true gentleman. Just the other day, I was telling how, I like HD Uno, but its not my goto compound. Is HD Uno a nice product? Absolutely it is, but for my compounding methods its not. I prefer something a little heavier when Im doing a serious correction. Tunch says to me. Hey Barry what can we do to correct this. I said Tunch make me a compound that is truely a compound. He says ok. Im in Miami now, but when I get to LA, Ill make it happen. Long story short. There are many detailers on this forum from highend pros to the everyday car guy looking to learn. Tunch looks at this place as feedback for him to better the business and make everyones lives easier. As a group in whole, we have a man and a team behind this forum who are open to suggestions. We should be taking advantage of this. Your not buying relabeled garage from him. Your buying direct from the manufactuer! If you don't like 3d/hd products you can ask on this forum about any other manufactuer and get a response of where to buy it and how to use it? Try that on autogeek! It won't happen. They will banned you on for that! Trust me. lol They sell a wax named after my business and I'm banned from there site for posting a picture of Garry Dean at the 3D after Party. Autopia.org is a real open discussion forum that is full of knowledge and great people. Its a place Im proud to call my home away from home! Another great thing is! We also have sponsors like detailers domain who sells other products at great prices! Then there is that other really cool bald guy! Whats his name? ???? Oh yea that right. KEVIN BROWN the freaking man himself. The man who forever changed the industry with a DA. His vast knowledge is availible to all of us exclusively now as a sponsor! Did I mention he sells products as well. Gentleman autopia is growing fast. Hang on for the ride.

So youre saying youre smarter than the average bear, huh?

It turns out that you have no clue what youre talking about because youre WRONG!

Trust me, its not gonna keep me from eating steak and shrimp if 3d doesnt sell my clips.

3D is an amazing company with a lot to offer.

Katt Williams once said, "If you don't have haters, you ain't doing something right!"

Take all of my misleadings to heart! Sit back and enjoy the ride. <<<<<<<<<<<<< sarcasm...

Thank god someone of your intellect has risen up to show me the light, praise the lord, lol.

Wait... you mean a company (3D) wants to keep its hand on the pulse of its market clientele (professional detailers) so they not only sell some accessories that these professional detailers have created, designed the top web forum for this very niche market, and often ask these same professionals to review their products...

.... then some of these professionals actually like their products because they work and are high quality, then say so in a video or page long review, and that is automatically biased?

Sounds like good R&D, marketing, and business to me.

Maybe you should skip the tar and feathers and actually consider that he possibly really liked the polisher...:argue

Perhaps it's time to break for refreshments in here?

If I may interject......Please noted that in Garry's 1st video, he was very candid with his opinion of the polisher. And also, in this latest video he clearly mentions (I believe twice) that he feels HD Speed isn't his favorite product and that there are better offerings. I don't see where he's sugarcoating his opinion to protect a company who sells his product? You might need to watch the video(s) again to fully digest them.

Great question that should be asked on another detailing forum. That is if you can ask that without it being edited and you being banned. They pride themselves on tweeking color, labels, fragrance and price on their product lines to justify their redundancy. They also claim to be manufacturers too, but from my knowledge they only "manufacturer" labels.

I got the impression he was asking why people (end users/customers/enthusiasts/forum members/etc.) have so many redundant products in the sense of "why do they buy so many products that do the same thing?"

And yeah, a lot of it has to do with being gullible to marketing hype.... but then that's a bit of a double-edged sword on a slippery slope. Falling for the hype only to discover the product is mediocre means you have to go back out and find something that does a better job, which leads to a shelf full of products intended to do the same thing and where half of them simply sit there unused. This can be a continuous cycle if you just keep following the hype wherever it leads you.

Trouble is, sometimes what looks like hype is actually solid advice/feedback. It can be difficult to decipher which is which depending on a multitude of factors, but that's life. Caveat Emptor, but don't bash someone's (or a group of someones') reputation or credibility when there's no factual basis for it.

In the world of business nobody will bite the hand that feeds them, i wonder if 3d will provide a polisher to someone who has no affiliation with 3d for a comparison as well. Its seems the product went from being intolerably loud to being the best. It would be great if a hobbyist would do a comparison also, maybe someone who is well know on another forum.

I'll take a free one...

The video is straight forward and honest, but the rest of the thread is reasons many guys stay away from forums as of late, too much going on. Good video though Garry.

I thought I was very clear in my response.

I stated that *if* you changed your opinion on the polisher at the same time they agreed to start carrying your product, it would look suspicious.

They apparently started carrying your product about 3 months ago, well before your first review. Therefore, no conflict of interest.

How can I be more clear?
