Ultra Fine Claybar

Which ultra-fine clay bar does everyone recommend?

This is for my own personal vehicles that have been coated with Opti-Coat Pro Plus.

Previously used the Mother`s Clay which I believe is a medium grade. Thinking that might be too coarse for the vehicles now that they have been coated.

I use the Sonus SFX, used properly I can "clay my LSP clean" without compromising it, so it oughta work fine with a coating as long as you do it right.

anyone know where the Poorboys clay fits in this medium or mild category? (asking because I just ordered the kit that was on sale)

The Riccardo yellow is the same as the "Smart" clay, right?

I *really* like that stuff (have a mountain of it), but it`s not nearly as mild as the Sonus SFX, not even close.

Looks like it is currently out of stock. Do you think the mild grade might be too harsh? I assumed that a fine or ultra-fine grade would be better for my needs.
While nobody has (as of yet) confirmed that my Smart clay is in fact the same as the Yellow Riccardo, IMO it`s still more aggressive than what you`re after. So yeah, I`d stick with the Ultra-fine grades.

Heh heh, can`t get ya to go for the Sonus, huh? OK, OK...just teasin` ;)

Whatever you get, I hope it works out OK as I`d hate for you to precipitate a re-Coating.

Can`t decontaminate it some other (i.e., chemical) way, and thus just avoid the whole "which clay is safe" issue?

I am also looking at the Sonus. However, it seems a little harder to find that the Pinnacle. I`m not familiar with chemical decontamination.

Yeah, I suppose that`s true. I get mine from [the guy many here have issues with]. FWIW their Glyde Lube is my all-time fave.

I`m not familiar with chemical decontamination.

And I`m not familiar enough with Coatings to recommend something :D

Take this advice.
BTW the Mothers clay is not aggressive but it is very sticky.
Careful of your method, too. I think that using dedicated lube, lots of it, is a mild method, whereas using ONR sparingly is more aggressive. Pressure is of course a big factor too.
