Trump 2016

Trump made his money the old fashion way. He inherited millions built upon government spending (Depression recovery, WWII). Once he became head of the company, the Trump company as over $5 billion in debt and thanks to a lot of banks, they bailed him out.

No matter how hard I try, I can't begrudge rich people.

I watched a significant part of the NBC interview of Donald Trump. He definitely is blunt about who he thinks is to blame: Mexico, China, Saudi Arabia, etc.

He talks about having more jobs here and basically not being taken advantage of by other countries but like all politicians he is quite vague on how he expects to make such changes through the political system. He, as all, are tapping the anger and frustration that many have but no real details. The first step is dealing with Congress (who cannot agree on an immigration plan) and his style (closer to the Christy bully method) probably will not get very far.

I think by now almost everyone knows Trump isn't a deep thinker so I went looking for what the other Republicans might have to say about how to fix things. Here's Jeb Bush.
Jeb Bush: Americans Should Work Longer Hours - Fortune

12 hr night shift and 2 hour drive round trip. 6 out of 7 days. I think I work enough, Jeb!

Maybe he meant on average. If you factor in all the people who never leave the couch except for the trip to the mailbox on the 1st, maybe we don't work so much.

Here is a statistic...10,000 people each day reach age 65 (born in 1950) and this will continue for about 18 years or so.

The last thing we need is a "deep thinker".

That's for sure. Look at what having "the smartest man in the room" as president has done for us.

(do me a favor please. please don't quote the ww guy. I have him on ignore, and can't see his drivel unless someone quotes him)

Reagan was not a deep thinker but he was surrounded by some pretty good people but in today's Republican party they may be considered too liberal including some believing in the occult. The same cannot be said about GW.

[Accumulator, who still identifies as "Republican" despite feeling the GOP has been hijacked, sticks to his determination to NOT enter into certain debates and deletes most of his post...]

Gee, I wonder if we'll ever see another GOP POTUS in my lifetime. Gotta. Win. Election.

All those candidates who simply won't win are, take your pick: delusional; feathering their nests; just wasting resources.

And no, I don't buy the "in it to move the discussion"-type arguments. Even if it *were* true, [screwing] up the Primaries gives away the General when the candidate starts with an uphill battle to begin with.

He said he'd bomb the hell out of the Iraqi oil fields, bring in the top five USA oil companies and rebuild them and choke off the oil money from our enemies. We should have done that under George Bush I. Remember the gop saying once we took the oil fields, the oil money would finance that disaster of a war. It wasn't going to cost us anything. Another GOP idiot...war is the answer to everything..( rich war investors getting riche while the poor put their blood in the sand)
