Tried a few Adam's products, I'm impressed....

I am not sure the connection between Warner Chemicals / Chemical Guys but they may have the a common history but I do not think they all are the same recipe...like Maxi Suds. Adam's is closer but Griot's soap is totally different.

The Griots UC Spray and CG Bare Bones were supposedly the same but I tested them both and they are not the same. CG seems like water compared to Griots.

When I hear the word relabel I think same identical product with a different brand and do believe that Adam's and Griot's have custom formulations for many products.

Did some threads disappear a few minutes ago....I could have sworn I saw one from Flanningan that is no longer there....

EXACTLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY my thoughts, Al.

I bought my first Adam's product last week - Super VRT (vynil, rubber, trim.) Used it on my black trim hoping it would last through a rain/wash or two and not run all over my paint if/when it rained. It didn't run on my paint, but it was gone as soon as it rained. Possible I could've done something wrong in using it - I am new to this. However, the guy at the place I got the Adam's product at didn't sound real thrilled with the product when he sold it to me - he just said it's better than the old one and that nothing works really well on trim.

In contrast, I used Chemical Guys Forever Gel and, while it lasted, it attracted dust like a magnet and ran down the panels as soon as it rained. Haven't tried anything else yet - plan to try the Gel again but this time buffing off excess, and also plan on trying Ultima's product along with PERL and Duragloss 271 - maybe nothing does really work. I thought the Super VRT price was a premium price and have to imagine something cheaper is available that will give at least the same result.

That's odd, I've had pretty good luck with SVRT. It won't outlast Ultima Tire & Trim Guard+. But it has lasted thru some pretty good rains for me. And it darkens trim more than UTTG+.

But I can't leave well enough alone, I have some Chemical Guys G6 on the way.:lol2:

Did you clean the trim really well before applying? Was the trim completely dry? Prep is very important when it comes to trim restoration.

Nothing will, with the exception of Gtechniq C4.

I didn't do any special prep...definitely was clean and dry, though. I dunno...maybe there was some Chemical Guys Forever Gel left and that caused the VRT to not be able to "bite" at all? I'll try it a few more times...it's probably me if others are getting along well with it. I just finally got a car worth detailing and started reading and throwing chemicals at it :)

Yea, you should scrub the trim with APC or something similar, rinse well, and let completely dry. You should get better results this way. :)

Tough to do any APC scrubbing - the trim is always right next to paint on this car and I don't want to ruin that. Trim is a flat out pain in the ass.

So now I've tried:

Adam's leather and interior cleaner, leather conditioner, car shampoo, carpet and upholstery cleaner, glass cleaner, APC, detail spray, and quick sealant. They are ALL top of the line products! I have fine machine polish on the way, can't wait to try that! I've become an Adamite!! :D

This is one of those brands that has a huge following, I havent been sucked in yet! Ill have to place on order sometime.

I never tried any of the Adams stuff. I was put off on it early on by the bad press it gets on being a relabled product. But seeing the positive responses here they may not be exactly true.

I have used all of there products and all have worked as advertised. Plus if you don't like it there is 110 % guarantee which Adam stands behind. He will take it back no questions asked. Some products may seem similar to some CG ones but they are not the same . They are a staple on my shelf.

I am sure some companies like to build themselves up by tearing others down plus it never hurts to feed the masses that their company makes most everyone else's products plus I see a difference between relabel vs blending custom formulations.

For example, Adam's has been accused of relabeling CG Maxi Suds. I have heard this stated by some as a fact (not sure if they actually used the products or not) but I do not believe they are the exact same formula.

In my side by side testing, they look and identical but Adams is far more concentrated in same concentration (say 0.5 per gallon, Adam's recommendation) as Maxi-suds so direct cost comparisons are not valid.

You may not like Adam's pricing but that is another discussion.
