What are the differences between

autogeek_1939_31644311

and

autogeek_1939_31304421

and do I need

autogeek_1939_31330177

to use the above two?

105 is the updated/better version of 111. 105 is markedly better (wetter, glossier, deeper looking) than 111 and relegates 111 to the dustbin IMO.

You can use any good paint prep. material before using 105 (KAIO, ZAIO, Werkstatt Prime, etc.) and don't necessarily have to use 601 PBA. However, you would need to use some kind of paint prep. material to insure that the 105 bonds with the paint.

But 111 is a pure sealant without any cleaning abilities. 105 has cleaning abilities. They are not the same...

Exactly, and I prefer te durability of #111 a lot better then 105. 105 is a great all in one product, 111 is a sealant for use on an already prep'd surface. Two different purposes.

Some PBA users have found healthier durability when using it prior to sealing.

I have found 105 more durable than any of the other DG sealants. DG claims 1 year durability because of the new formulation. 111 is a very outdated formula, although it is still better than 99% of the OTC stuff out there. The cleaners in 105 are miniscule, almost nonexistant if using the product by hand. I wouldn't call it an all in one product at all.

Here is my review of 105.... http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-product-discussion/74809-tried-dg-105-weekend-my-thoughts.html

To me, I found 105 every bit as durable as Zaino, part of the reason I stopped using the Z products.

The cleaning abilities of 105 are pretty mild - it is not a true AIO by any stretch of the imagination. Both 105 and 111 would need a separate paint preparation product IMO - be it DG PBA or another good paint cleaner/AIO.

I used the 105 on two cars over the weekend with very satisfying results. A really good product. Ageed, not a true all in one (by Autopian standards). Good prep makes it even better. Should be used on cars with a surface rating a 9 of 10.

I love the ease of use with the 111, and slickness. I often think the 105 is a mix of Pink Buffing Gel and 111!

I'll use it in my next detail. Just PO106FF and then IPA wipedown and DG105. After 1 hour, AW.

I too have found success with 105. Al-53 here (resident DG expert) told me that you really don't *need* thr 601 PBA with the 105, as much as you would with the 111. I have 2 coats of 105 on my Yaris, and well, I'll let the pic below do the talking. Needless to say, the DG line is VERY nice any way you view it (price, looks, slickness, durability, ease of application).

Thanks to TigerMike, Brandon1 and AL-53 I Started using DG products when I first started detailing. I was/am very impressed with them and continue to use them today. If it ain't beoke don't fix it!! I tried DG #105 without the PBA once and, while it didn't look any different intially, I did notice that the protection didn't last as long. Just some food for thought.

That sounds like a perfect process to me. Should be VERY optically clear and slick.

Yes, I was thinking exactly about that. I'm using on my latest details OPS + Klasse SG and the result is amazing, but not optically clear. I need to change now ;)

Regards.

Thank you all for your responses. I was kind of looking for something that had the Zaino effect with out the cost and the mixing.

Question on aqua wax, does it spray out white like PBs QD+ or is it a clear substance?

Oh my friend, you're in for a surprise. It sprays exactly like a quick detailer, clear, smooth, and oh-so-easy to apply. :hifive:

Nice!! I hated that PBs because it squirted all over the place this nasty white goo. I think that I am going to have to run to a car quest today!!

111 does have a mild cleaner..look at your box..it says...cleans ..shines...protects...

also states it will remove fine scratches...bugs..tar...sap...but has no abrasives...

111 with good prep DOES look good...sorta like the Z2 pro look...

105 looks like the Z5 pro look...

to get the ultimate look...from DG try this..

Polish the paint....

then do 101 with a finish pad on speed 3 ..it has micro abrasives and does ramp the gloss up a bit..and gives a great surface to bond to..no PBA needed for 105 then

then hand apply 105....if you want to apply AW ..I would wait a few hours at the least..if its hot and humid the 105 needs time to set up or the AW will push the 105....

here is that combo with no AW ....

it works like a champ and gives results...

Figures, I went to the parts store today to pick up the 105 but I forgot the numbers and left with 111. Guess I'll go back tommorrow and have them order the 105 lol.
