Tire Dressing recommendation

Greetings all,



thanks to you guys i recently completed my first detail ever. i think im addicted. (pics and details soon). anyway i was hoping to get some recommendations on good tire dressing that lasts a good amount of time. im currently using armor all tire foam which lasts maybe a day b4 tires get dull again. thanks
 
No Touch Wet n Shine. 3 bottles at Costco for $7.



No harmful ingredients and provides UV protection. No browning of the tire either. My favorite.
 
As I've realized you have three types:



1. Aerosol. Like the NoTouch WetnShine, Stoner's More Shine Less Time, Black Magic Tire Wet etc. I find these good at coverage and shine, and longevity but find the fine aerosol mist annoying as hell, it tends to cover the surrounding fender and wheel with its fine mist. I like Black Magic Tire Wet the best out of these.



2. Spray. Like say Armor All, Poorboy's Wet and Shine etc. These are a liquid in a normal pump spray. These dont have the issue of the misting, but they also usually dont do "spray and walk away" well. I find the Poorboys quite good here.



3. Gels. Like Meguiars Endurance twins, Turtle Wax Tire Wax. These are gels that are spread on with an applicator. These are my current favorite. Too hard to use on my Explorer because of the raised white letters etc, but they work great on the Lexus. They go on pretty easy, no overspray or slinging. And they last through washings and rain (I find the car looks cleaner, even if it needs a wash if the tires are good and black. For these types I like the Endurance.
 
I'm currently using the Turtle Wax Tire Wax that GoodnClean mentioned. I find that it has decent durability and does not turn your tires brown overtime. Once it is used up I will most likely try Endurance next.
 
As of this time my favorite tire dressing is Meguiar's Hot Tire Shine in the Aerosol Can..very easy to spray..and stay's long..It has an adjustable sprayer head..very cool...
 
For a "wet" look I use Meg's Endurance and foam applicator.



For a Satin finish, I use Zaino "Perfect Tire Shine". It gives the tires a black appearance that is not extremely shiney, and it dries almost dry to the touch. Long-lasting too.
 
I like to control how much I'm applying so the gels are my favorite. I really like Meguiar's Tire gel since it's inexpensive, readily available and has good longevity.

There's loads of 3 pack Eagle One-like Tire swipes in Dollar Tree stores around here ( see good deals section) I can't tell any difference in the quality of material between the two. I cut them in half to fit my low profile tires.



I'm such a nut that I shine both sides of my tires.:D A trigger spray or aerosol comes in handy for this. Currently I'm using 303 and I use up my case of MSLT when the week is going to be rainy ( why waste the more expensive 303?) MSLT comes in handy for flat black under carraige surfaces as well.
 
I'm currently enjoying Poorboy's Bold 'N' Bright. It going on its third week now, and though the matte finish is not as "matte" they survived a second wash with 50/50 Simple Green and distilled water. I am also using this to treat the wheel wells.



I have also used and liked Poorboy's Natural Look and Meguiar's Endurance.
 
For years I used Stoners MSLT, then I started to switch to LWNM but lately I've been enjoying the look of Poorboys stuff. I started with Natural Look, then got some Bold N Brite and tried it. Currently I've been switching back and forth between them for a semi-matt/gloss look without any of the cracked look that I got with the sprays.



I've always hated the hassle of wiping on tire stuff but having a rubber glove always available in my on-board detailing bag makes things easier (no more black hand!) and of course having gone from a 44" waist to a 34" waist this past year has made in difference in how I feel about bending over and wiping the tires :) .
 
There are way too many good tire dressings out there. Here are some of my favorites:

I've only tried the Turtle Wax Finish 2001 Tire Gel for a week, and like it so far, but can't comment too much on it.
 
Black Magic Tire tint works very well. I don't use it for the color tint it gives you. I think it last longer than Meguiar's Endurnace.
 
I prefer to clean my tires very well with an APC, and then spray on Vinylex. Let it soak in for a few minutes, then use a tire swipe to get rid of the excess. My tires stay BLACK this way, and don't have a very high shine that makes them look like plastic. It endures well, and the next cleaning is simple with no need to "strip" coats of protectant off. There is also no mess or slinging onto bodypanels. If needed, a tire swipe with Vinylex can be used between cleanings for touchups for that night on the town.

Does anyone know about the longevity or appearance of 303 on tires? I just converted to using it on my dash and interior plastic, and am very impressed so far.

turle wax tire gel (If you can find it)....higher gloss unless you buff quickly, dries DRY, and lasts through multiple washes....

I HATE, HATE, HATE shiny tires!



I've been using Meg's #40 which looks good but doesn't last at all.



So, since I recently swore off 303 (because I got inconsistent results on interiors and trim; some surfaces came out matte, some shiny, some semi gloss, plus all that buffing BS), I needed to get rid of my remaining 303.



I cut the 303 1:1 with water and sprayed it clean tires, waited 20 minutes and wiped it once (per their instructions). It looks great and lasts longer than anything else I've tried. It has held up to multiple washings so far. I even took a long drive on a dirt road after applying it; Obviously it was a dust magnet and coated the tires, but a quick rinse brought them back to life.



I may even go back and try the 303 and water mixture on interiors.
 
It seems I've tried them all........aerosol, pump spray, gels.



My favorite now is Lemon Pledge.

Seriously, I'm convinced that Meg's Endurance Gel is as good as it's going to get. :up
