However, this was after many ovations to the Republicans to sit down and discuss a Healthcare bill, but there was no interest on their part. At this point the Dems went into the locked rooms to stop leaks before the bill was finalized.
 
Trump has said he`ll just wait until the ACA explodes and then work on solving the problem. While even the CBO has said things will settle down and even out so it may never explode. Apparently he doesn`t care about the millions of Americans who will be impacted and suffer if the ACA does explode. If Trump and Ryan were true LEADERS they could put together a special independent Healthcare commission composed of Republicans, Democrats, Doctors, Hospitals, Insurance Companies and most importantly patient advocacy groups and hammer out a solution even if it takes a year. Then live by their findings--either keep the ACA with improvements or provide a better solution.

Keep in mind that if we end up with 24 million uninsured you still pay for their Healthcare because they will go to the ER, be treated and never pay the bill because they can`t afford it and those charges will eventually be paid for by all of us with increased charges.

Interesting tidbit regarding the recently failed AHCA-- by now we should all know that it included big tax cuts for the wealthy. The payout to the top 400 families alone was estimated to exceed total ACA subsidies in 20 states and the District of Columbia. How`s that for looking out for the average American????
 
The blame game has been going on for way too long. It`s past time for our government to figure out a direction and get going. Inaction is a sign of weakness that both our friends and enemies pick up on. It`s kind of like the joke about how to eat an elephant...one bite at a time.

There were NO "ovations" to the repubs at all

Please remember Pelosi say that she had a super majority, they could do whatever they wanted.

While I partially agree, the way our government was set up to support "inaction" so that change happens really slowly. Too bad corruption happens quickly.

What do you think caused her to make this statement? They had been trying to get the Republicans to come to the table regarding Healthcare with no success. Don`t forget before Obama was even sworn in the Republicans vowed to do everything they could to make him fail rather than do anything to help the country out of the financial mess we were in at the time.

Ummmmm not really. Pelosi couldn`t help but trumpet that. Remember, they had that majority.
 
But wasn`t Trump a Democrat for many years before he became a Republican? It shouldn`t be about the party once you are elected President. The Republican Party really didn`t want Trump as their candidate anyway. He pretty much forced their hand. He needs to work for the people that elected him, Republican, Democrat, or Independent (or Russian, lol).

But it`s the dems trying to take him down now.
 
I actually do not have a big issue with testing but I did check this. The percentage in other states have been low too.

Somewhat conflicting information. The Mic article states in a clarification that "it is unclear whether all 87,000" were subject to drug screening. Also, there seems to be some confusion about the 1.7 million cost, as one has it as the cost of the testing, and one has it as an estimate of how much would be saved. The estimate of 3.6 mil comes from an assumption that the tests cost $41 (unconfirmed), and that all 87,000 people were tested (unknown, and reading between the lines of the Mic article update, not likely).

The Mic article also notes that a few more people had since tested positive, and there were ~20 ish people that were dropped because they did not submit to testing.

I`m sure there are other stories that would provide more context, but figured I would share.

No slant either way on my end, just providing context for Bunky`s post and your ask for a source. :)

Yeah my first question is what is the testing schedule/procedure. The NFL has recreational drug testing but its once a year and during a set period may june july but they almost always do it right at the beginning of training camp when all the players are easy to find. If its that type joke testing then its meaningless.
 
:rofl:lol2: So Arizona only test if you send back a questionnaire saying yes i love drugs and want to do them all the time. With that system I am amazed they have not caught anyone.

Edit: got chance to read more of Bunky link and it seems that almost all states doing any testing its after you raise a red flag in a questionnaire screening.

I wish the IRS did this I could pay no taxes for the rest my life. Agent, Mr. Sullivan did you make any money this year. Me, no sir not one single dime. Agent, well if you say so it must be true, nothing more for me to do here. BYE BYE.

So what does get you tested admitting that you got arrested for drug possession?????????????????????????????
