The Unofficial *Official* Politics Thread

Not sure what you mean by "dirty". I`ve never seen an administration that was not self interested and out to influence public opinion. The Carter Administration was considered weak and ineffective because they were seen as "clean" and not politically savvy. Politics is a dirty business where you have to appear to have the public interest at heart but actually pushing the party line behind closed doors. Most of the established Republicans did not want Trump as a candidate, they just couldn`t find anyone any better (or electable) within their party. By not winning the popular vote Trump does not have the support of the people behind him and not being the GOPs first choice he really doesn`t have the full support of the GOP. Somewhere moderate Republicans and moderate Democrats need to get together and come to a realization partisan politics are not doing anything except hurting Americans. Trump is too far to the right to garner real support, party or public.

Trump actually isnt that conservative to be labeled as "far right." Even liberal media called him out for not fitting with Republican politics. But now you call him far right? Which way is it?

Looks like we`re bombing the dog you know what out of somebody. I`d have rather we just sent in Force Recon to execute those in charge, and gotten out with nobody even knowing we were really there.

Trump just needs to call his buddy Putin and explain how a nuclear bomb might cause disruption in Syria`s oil output and for him to tell Assad to quit killing his own people. Russia does have 2 bases in Syria.

This all may be a bait and switch scenario. After all we have seen it in Iraq, Panama, Grenada, Vietnam, Cuba, et al

Almost 30,000 tons of explosives used.................

Where are the climate change activists??

The loyal Trumpeteers have not wasted time on this.

But didn`t Trump tell Obama to stay out of Syria back in 2013? Then we have the air strike in Mosul that killed 300 people to add to the mess.

There is no winning until the people in region want peace. We have seen mass genocide in many countries. As with Eqypt, we want to support some bad governments to fight certain others.

It will be interesting.

When our military took out Iraq the 4 largest army in the world in 12 days that is 12 days read that twice if you have to..
just how afraid do you think Trump is of Russia..

Trump`s thinking is based upon his arrogance and not facts so we need people like McMasters to properly advise him.

you can think what you want about Trump, but he`s put some very good people in important positions

Fox News says there is a Russian war ship heading towards the two US destroyers that launched the attack last night. Wonder where this will go?

wow.....supposedly the first missiles fired loitered over the area waiting for others to catch up before hitting their targets

Syria is a "tar baby" much like all wars. The US has been poking its fingers in Syria for a while. Now Trump may have kicked the "tar baby".
