So much for credibility. It's pretty clear that someone has an axe to grind... oh well. I sleep fine at night
PS- Lyme disease can be tracked back to the 1800s, and it's first known origin was in POLAND (Germany now). That sort of puts a stick in the spokes of that conspiracy theory, eh?
I think these guys might know a thing or two about it...

"Plum Island is the center of various rumours, and often takes conspiratorial blame for now-common diseases that thrive within America over the last several decades. The highest-profile example is undoubtedly Lyme Disease, which at the time of its study was carried by the Lone Star Tick, an insect that was found only in certain areas of Texas.
During the 1970s, reports of Lyme Disease began surfacing in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. A southern virus springing up so far north (and suspiciously close to a well-known germ facility) prompted complaints from citizens and ex-employees about Plum Island's secretive and controversial nature."
Being that the Lone Star Tick is from Texas, and people in the IMMEDIATE area of Plum Island seemed to be the ONLY ones sick in the first year, seems like the square block is fitting in the square hole.. Seems to me that the Lone Star Ticks infected with Lyme were somehow able to escape and infect a couple folks.. Am i wrong in my 'assumption' here?
"The history of Lyme disease in Connecticut began in 1975 when a cluster of children and adults residing in the Lyme, Connecticut area experienced uncommon arthritic symptoms. By 1977, the first 51 cases of Lyme arthritis were described, and the Ixodes scapularis (black-legged) tick was linked to the transmission of the disease. During 1982, Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium that causes Lyme disease, was discovered and the first brochure addressing Lyme disease was developed by the Arthritis Foundation." DPH: A Brief History of Lyme Disease in Connecticut
"Lyme disease, first identified in Connecticut in 1975, continues to be an important public health concern. Surveillance maintained by the Department of Public Health has shown that we have the highest number of cases relative to the population of any state. The Department of Public Health (DPH) has had an active role in contributing to the understanding of Lyme disease and other diseases spread to people by ticks including ehrlichiosis and babesiosis.
Initially, with little known about Lyme disease, studies and surveys were conducted to determine the occurrence of the disease in Connecticut and factors that favor acquiring the disease. This work was done in collaboration with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, the University of Connecticut, Yale University, local health departments, and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The current focus of the Program is on prevention." DPH: Lyme Disease

If for some reason, you dont think that our government can 'modify' bacteria and viruses, i figured i would throw a few 'credible facts' out there for ya, eh?

"Scientists find bugs that eat waste and excrete petrol-
Silicon Valley is experimenting with bacteria that have been
genetically altered to provide 'renewable petroleum'
He means bugs. To be more precise: the
genetic alteration of bugs – very, very small ones – so that when they feed on agricultural waste such as woodchips or wheat straw, they do something extraordinary. They excrete crude oil.
Unbelievably, this is not science fiction. Mr Pal holds up a small beaker of bug excretion that could, theoretically, be poured into the tank of the giant Lexus SUV next to us. Not that Mr Pal is willing to risk it just yet. He gives it a month before the first vehicle is filled up on what he calls “renewable petroleum. After that, he grins, “it’s a brave new world." Anymore of you vast wisdom on Lyme Disease? Or will this shut your mouth? I have been paying 50,000 a year for 3 years and have to watch my wife TRY to stay healthy on a daily basis, and your smart *** decides to throw something at me that you think will 'throw a stick in my spokes'? I try to be a civil guy, but I am glad to you were not face to face with me when you made that comment...
