The "Really ?!?!?!?!" Thread

Hiroo Onoda, an Imperial Japanese Army intelligence officer who fought in World War II, held his position in the Philippines and refused to surrender until 1974. His former commander traveled from Japan to personally issue orders relieving him from duty.

Re: The "Really ?!?!?!?!" Thread

Pretty much like anything made anymore. I think appliances piss me off the most. They're ALL garbage. My folks have had refrigerators, dryers, washers, etc....that worked for over 20 years with minimal repairs. I've had to fix our washer, dryer, fridge, water heater, and dishwasher (a couple being fairly significant repairs) already and none of em are over probably 6, maybe 7 years old

House of Wax- Get me going on appliances and the lack of replacement parts! I've been replacing 10-YO stuff that lasted my parents their whole lives. And I even keep our stuff maintained to a level that my partents never dreamed of...doesn't make a diff when a [little part] that's N/A goes bad. I can't even blame it on the Chinese, my made-in-USA stuff needs replaced frequently too.

Thats incredible.....and pathetic

Check out the guy I just passed:

Talk about extreme hyper-milling! From what I could see: there are no side view mirrors, seams are taped over, homemade air damns over the rear wheels, turned his the engine off at the traffic light... And added that aerodynamic but on the rear!! How many mpgs does it all save on an already fuel frugal Honda Civic????? It also makes me wonder how safe it is to drive w/o side mirrors and how good is the visibility out the back with that huge thing hanging off???

Probably illegal without mirrors

I remember this guy on the forums from when I had a ninja 250. A quick search shows his best being 187 mpg. Pretty crazy.
